Your right! I always believed the unwritten rule was divert after three attempts... this is #4 now

But now it looks like it’s gone back out over Irish Sea, prob diverting now.

No it's simply holding. If the altitude is down below 6,000ft chances are a diversion isn't happening yet.

Ha, now DAL turning back for Dublin to try again I guess, hate to be on that flight

Fuel not going to be an issue at this stage?

The weather was forecast so its possible they took extra and there was also a very strong jetstream over the Atlantic last night... so funnily enough they are prob ok for fuel.

But 4 attempts is still an awful lot. Just texting a friend here and mentioned it to him, he says in his company its mandatory to divert after 3.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,181 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

His first two attempts were to Runway 16, the wind changed direction and Runway changed also so they can go again with another 3 if they wish

Dublin ATC - "Manchester giving out that they can't take anymore diversions".

I appreciate the Irish only term of 'giving out' being used :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,269 ✭✭✭✭stephenjmcd

Only 1 flight down in the last 20 according to ATC. UK air traffic giving out, airports getting full there

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,269 ✭✭✭✭stephenjmcd

FR205 cant wait for a decision from manchester or liverpool, heading to one regardless, presume there getting low on fuel

I thought 13/31 was closed permanently many years ago. No?

Sat in Rhodes airport waiting on a TUI flight to Dublin. Should be landing at 17.25 hrs. Is it calming down yet?
