That's so they can get the push back bar in to the hold once it's been moved to a place where it can start. And no, I'm not joking, the thing is HUGE, the 124 is bad enough, the bar for this thing is massive.

    That is a 124...

Sorry, momentary brain fade, I was looking at an image of the 225 a little earlier, and clearly got confused. Anno Domini is my only excuse:D

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Whats going on at Dublin, lots of planes diverting to Shannon. Air Canada and Aer Lingus holding over Knock.

  • Registered Users Posts: 401 ✭✭NH2013

Radar failure at Dublin airport this morning looks like lots of diversions to SNN/ORK/BFS.

Shannon ATC told aircraft that Dub may be open in 30 mins.

    Flights are departing now

Back open again but at a slow rate. Aircraft that were holding are now making a approach now. Air Arabia will be one to watch. Was going to Shannon and then Dublin opened, then turned for Dublin. Keeps asking which sequence they will be for landing. May have to hold at Dub but not much fuel for holding.

Why are they suspended? Why can't they go back to procedural separation ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,191 ✭✭✭✭smurfjed

    They fly Agadir to Dublin.

There are no procedurally licensed controllers in Dublin . This came up here a couple of months ago, they are apparently all only radar-trained and licensed

What will operate these B767 domestic and Euro routes now, A321s? Do they ever use B787s on these routes or do they have any plans to?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,321 ✭✭✭Foggy43

Currently using B777-200/300 on some routes. B787-8 when engine availability allows. A320 family aircraft still being delivered to BA.

Bird strike apparently. Doesn't take much to bring it all grinding to a halt :pac:

Seems to be descending into LPL.

Looks like a runway switch to 28 as well (assuming it wasn't on 28 before the interruption!)

Animal strike on the runway (Hare or Fox), clean up going on, the RYR6RW diverted to LPL to fuel up as he had made an approach, done a go-around and held for a bit before being told they were XX number on the queue for approach.
