SQ 21 is passing just South of SNN tonight on it's way from Newark to Singapore. Ground speed of 689 mph thanks to the very strong jetstream.
    Just 13.5 hrs remaining!

There's an Antonov AN 12BP just passing Dublin at the moment. It's on its way from Istanbul to Shannon. Built in January 1963.

Winds are 170 at 32 gust 43 knots and the runway is 08/26 so it's a direct crosswind

Just heard a plane overhead at 625am, very unusual for Inishowen in Donegal, especially at this early hours.

Checked flight radar and it showed up as a Ukraine Air Alliance plane with no call sign.

Anyone any idea what it could have been or where it would be going? There is no departure or destination info.

Looking at the track, it took off from Lough Neagh!

Edit: went back in to flight radar 15mins later, and it's gone! How does that happen? Are they allowed to do that?

Gatwick is still closed. 2 BA 777's diverting to shannon from the south .An other seems like it's heading for Bristol and another gone somewhere in north England. A Norwegian gone to Paris.

Not Bristol but Cardiff. 1 more BA 777 diverting down from the north

A drone report seems to have a similar if not more damaging consequence than a bomb threat.

The people involved in flying drones in this space should be locked up.

There is also a Norwegian 787 on the ground in SNN that was meant for LGW.

I think if they are able to identify the owners of these drones, they will definitely make an example of them to dissuade others.

    Jail time a definite

Ryanair FR7257 Madrid-Dublin diverted to Shannon this morning. Entered a holding pattern and then left it about 20 mins later for the short hop across the country. It is now returning to Dublin as FR725.

Anybody know the reason for the divert?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,521 ✭✭✭✭Water John

Niman, you'd feel like adding a Bishop Brennan solution as well.

Can confirm it’s very foggy here in cork city. Heard a plane flying overhead earlier only to go around again.
