Ryanair flight from Gatwick holding off the old head of Kinsale. It's gusting very strongly here in North Cork so presume the limits are exceeded atm in Cork airport.

And the Malaga flight looks like it is heading to Dublin now

The ATC feed isn't working for me, but it looks like the Gatwick flight might be off to Dublin and Budapest to Shannon. Malta flight seems to still be holding

Yup, Budapest off to Shannon, Luqa and Gatwick off to Dublin.

Edit: From the angle, the incoming Luton is making its way to Shannon.

LTN - ORK looks to be heading straight to Shannon as well.

FR from Katowice looks to be heading to Cork, perhaps will attempt an approach. Still gusting up to 50 kt.

Two FR aircraft on approach to ORK now (from AGP and Katowice).

Edit: Both FR flights landed at ORK. Gusts up to 48 kt so has eased off slightly.

The diverted flight from earlier (Budapest-Cork) is now making its way back to Cork, presumably for return leg back to Budapest (scheduled at 1800).

9H-QAL, operated MLA-ORK earlier but diverted to Dublin, positioned down from Dublin there but had to go around. Looks like it’s not going to attempt a 2nd time.

Edit: holding now at 230 off the coast of cork

This plane just did a 180 and now shows as a Cork-Malta flight on its way down to Malta.. guess the winds are too strong and the pilot decided he deserves some holidays

Winds really after picking up here since the go around so no surprise they abandoned it.

Operated by a Maltese based plane so they probably just want to go home

It appears to be scheduled. Normally maintenance flight will have a differing format to the flight%, but ,LY215 was the flight# for TLV-LTN and flightaware shows it as scheduled to DUB now. Could be a charter? Pilgrimage maybe?

Looks to be a very vigorous jetstream on the N. Atlantic presently. Some impressive speeds being shown on FR24. I realise those speeds are estimates while aircraft are in oceanic airspace outside of radar coverage but even so, they are impressive if even close to actual.

They're not usually even estimates - they are the last recorded speeds before ADS-B reception is lost.

It's just the location that FR24 estimates - height and speed are last recorded

I'll never forget seeing a ground speed of 734 mph on my screen going from Taipei to Tokyo about a year ago. Unfortunately I'm unable to link the photo here, but that must have been a similar situation. How long must it take going the other way? :eek: I presume they change to a more schedule-friendly flight level or route away from the jet stream.
