Of course. Proper hands on Pilots. No quivering of voices or stammering like the "kids of the magenta"

More than likely due to wind being out of limits.

It's just that all other flights are departing it seems

It's an A321 would that make a difference?

I’m here sitting in circle K bottom of Airport Hill in Cork waiting to see do I need to drive to Kerry, Shannon or Cork for this flight. Nail bitting stuff. Fingers crossed it’s Shannon or Kerry.

I have ATC on In my car but the audio is horrible.

Any idea what’s the quickest way I’ll know that the flight is diverted from cork to another airport? In fact looking here cork Shannon and Dublin all having go around/s so even they could be a risky journey

I hope this comment is tongue in cheek?

Approaches were about to resume in Dublin, but wind back up again so that's it for 10 minutes (I think) while that gust remains.

(Or is it 2min max gust?)

    Edit: EI205 making approach.

Touched down in Belfast. That's a long way from Shannon, poor bastards

Looks like RYR9944 from ACE is also heading to Kerry.

I wonder where the Are Lingus CDG-ORK will end up.

So presumably there are people in Cork waiting to go out on that plane.
So will the people now in Belfast wait out the storm and be flown down to Cork or will the plane re position empty later with passengers bussed down?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,902 ✭✭✭Chris_5339762

So thats Cork, Shannon and Dublin quite closed for jets. Tough situation. Kerry can't handle many more, will everything have to go to Belfast?

I think Kerry can just about handle 3 Boeing 738s/equivalent at once.

I haven't seen an A320 in Kerry for quite some time, and I also am not aware of (m)any Are Lingus diverts from Cork to Kerry. If one does end up there today, I will be driving over for a photo.

RYR9944 on final approach to Kerry.

That Man-Snn aircraft was due to depart at 3 o'clock for Malaga. Long wait for those people, possible reverse rotation instead while the passengers due into Shannon will be bussed from Belfast.

25-40 minutes holding for inbound aircraft joining hold now in Dublin! Ouch!

Shannon has had recent movements, so that's an option, however aircraft will likely avoid it if winds are borderline.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,181 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Controller in Dublin getting frustrated with all the aircraft asking for their position in the hold, I can understand the frustration as it's changing by the minute due to diversions etc.

We are due into Dublin around 2330 tonight

I understand that the winds will be over by then but could these diversions affect us?
