Are the 321 not getting used on the US flights a lot more since the start of the pandemic.

EI have 4 of them, LRD is stored, LRB and LRC spent the day on the ground in Dublin.

737 is a better hull going to 'unknown' locations as they have built in stairs and bulk loading in the hold, and the 737 responds well to a spanner due to its ancient design.

Return to the lessor - was due to go to St Athan but seems to have landed at Cardiff instead as St Athan is closed.

2 of them flew Athens to Shannon, SX-DGS and SX-DGV, GS stayed in Shannon for maintenance and the crew got onboard GV and they flew to Cardiff. I'm not sure why but return to lessor mentioned above could be correct!

Have been wondering if that’s a placeholder call sign or what they intend to use permanently. Most Air Corps callsigns refer to the aircraft type, eg:

AW27* = Augusta Westland (before it became Leonardo)
E256/27* = Eurocopter (before it became Airbus Helicopters)
C25* = CASA

Though there are exceptions: the PC9 callsigns all start with Fox, which I always assumed stood for Fighter though I have no particular evidence for that. P254 is a Britten-Norman so I don’t know where that one comes from.

FR24 watchers may also spot any of the above using IRLxxx, which is the Irish Air Corps’ ICAO designator (radiotelephony designator ‘Irish’), generally these are used when the aircraft is leaving Irish airspace. As far as I’m aware though, the Learjet uses that even on domestic flights.

The X on 280 feels a bit temporary, though if it is to be permanent, X-Ray kind of makes sense for the aircraft’s role (reconnaissance, surveillance, etc)

P254 refers to Pilatus-Britten Norman AFAIK. The PC-9s took over the Fox callsign from the Fougas and Papa was already in use anyway.

Something similar happened here in Waterford around 4.30pm, no sign on Flight Radar,
When i tried the other site there are more planes shown than on flight radar, why is that?

FR24 has a selective policy of not showing some military related flights. There are more than a few RAF transport flights showing up at the moment, and some military non RAF flights over in the North Sea in the vicinity of Denmark, and up towards Estonia as well.
