777 off from DUB again to Heathrow.

    That wasn't a quick turnaround :)

Anyone know how did they manage at the gates, can't imagine a 777 would fit into their ususal gates, did they park remotely and bus passengers?

Someone mentioned that it was backup to a plane going tech, would have thought they could have managed by filtering some passengers into aer Lingus and there always seems to be a few seats.

777 can park perfectly where BA park, and there must have either been too little notice for them to get from T5 in to T2 in LHR, or there could have been just too much to spill into EI

Yeah the Emirates 777 is T2.

Doesn't the Ethopiann 787 depart from T1 gates? Would these gates also be suitable for the 777?

So where did the wide bodies park before T2, was there enough gates for the 747s, A330s etc back in the day ? or did they use the steps ?

I'd imagine that parking is planned in advance, a 777 arriving instead of a scheduled e90 in BAs confined corner would make a big difference, especially as it was at a reasonably busy time (but maybe before all the night time flights arrived back).

    When will I land? Competition!!

Taking EI249 2150 Gatwick - Dub. According to flight radar my plane EI-EZW is in Dublin... Bad enough Bu it scheduled to fly a Knock to London flight before my flight to Dub. Would I be right to think I won't take off from Gatwick until near midnight ?

Don't think so, it's still at FL32 over Wexford.

EDIT: Just checked, it's heading to Montreal.

Looks like holding at DUB for some reason caused that divert.

    Knock was chosen unusually.
