IB3739 returned to DUB today due to smoke reported in the cockpit, caused a few delays.

I was on FR174 from Newcastle and after a shortish hold noticed all the emergency vehicles at the threshold of RWY28 and after passport control surrounding the Iberia aircraft.

UA127 also returned to DUB today.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

I was looking at flights over to the west coast of the US and found this RAF K2 flying over Wyoming. It's a long way from home.

Delta will have a third flight tomorrow (making up for today cancellation) and it will arrive DUB at 06.30 and depart at 22.00. I'm sure someone will be wondering tomorrow night when they see it on radar!

Crewing is the reason for 22.00 departure.

Not strictly FR24 related, but I heard on cork frequency today a shamrock casually querying the tower controller in ORK about his location, turns out he was actually in Dublin and conducting his duties via camera link etc.. Seemed to get a little chuckle from the crew.. :D

Don't know if it's a regular occurence or just trial basis, I know it was mentioned lately that it would be happening but was interesting to hear it nonetheless.

Switched back to RWY28 in DUB.

Why? The wind is forecast to be south easterly for the remainder of the day, although below 10 knots. Is the "preferred runway" agreement really this binding?

Further runway change to 10 under way.
