Probably the highest ive seen a B767 on FR24, but the Star Air that departed from Shannon a short time ago is now at 43,000ft over Wales

Saw one of those do that previously, after maintenance at SNN. Back when Aer Lingus had 767s and used them initially on the DUB-LHR route, I heard one up at FL430 on its way back to Dublin one afternoon. It must have been a very brief cruise before starting descent.

The thing is, EI110 doesn't arrive at midnight, it arrives at 6am.

Just the usual FR24 type error of mixing up call signs, don't worry, it'll be fixed sometime about new year, when another error fills its place

At a guess, based on looking at information from FR24, and a google search for arrivals at Jersey, the aircraft took off from Glasgow, they became aware of some sort of technical issue, spent a while in a hold trying to resolve it, and were unable to , so they went back into Glasgow. The flight is now showing an arrival delay in Jersey, which suggests a change of aircraft, or a later flight.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

I imagine they were/are following the cycling part of the triathlon in the Olympics, it was on TV a few minutes ago, but haven't checked to be honest
Edit: Actually, I may be wrong, they seem a bit high at 25000 feet?

They provides an uplink for TV cameras on the ground. Happens typically for the cycling Grands Tours, marathons and the like.

Probably "top cover" for the ground based mobile TV systems on things like the motor bikes, relaying the signals back to the broadcasting control station, for onward transmission into the normal broadcasting media.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    Taxing to Stand.

Few rounds of hold, not many aircraft inbound currently so no real disruption.

Ei-dvj on the ground in Nice since Friday just departing as EI-991... wonder if it is an empty repositioning flight?

EI991 is a positioning callsign, so yes it is.

Any update on UAL 153? What was the reason for the emergency landing?

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,193 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Lots of flights holding in Dublin tonight. Both off Louth and off Wexford. Just busy or weather related?

The main international airport in Tokyo (HND) facing trouble this evening with weather. Winds forecast to increase to gusting 58knots later tonight and RVR's are below 2000m.

Listening to ATC but cannot comprehend a word.
