EI109 just left Dublin for JFK some 6 hours late. Anyone know why this is?

HiFly hire in only arrived for Boston at around 6, not due weather though, crew rest meant the flight could only take off at 8am the next morning.

What's confusing me is why Aer Lingus are using 2 hire in's! I thought only one aircraft was out of service.

Something very loud and big-sounding just passed (lumbered) overhead (I'm in Dublin 4) - can't see anything on FR24 though.

Anyone any idea what it might have been?

DUO & FNG.. Just because DUO is back in DUB doesn't mean it will be back in service straight away.

Thought it was back in service considering only one hire in was needed yesterday, apologies.

A "new" aircraft for Kalitta Air currently passing over Killarney on the way to Cincinnati ,N976BA. Previously with Korean Airlines, built in 1991. Great to see it given a new lease of life after been stored for 3 years in Arizona

EI-DEK from Lisbon cancelled......looks like a truck hit the outer left wing tip

Looks like the Shannon to Boston flight EI135 has turned around over the Atlantic and is now making its way back.

Strange, so has BAW1 it seems?

Edit: 3 of them on that NAT are turning around now. What's going on I wonder? Stronger than expected headwinds so not enough fuel?

    Same with AUA89.

an FR24 glitch possibly? No logical explanation for three u-turns, and they don't appear to be routing directly to EINN either.

2 to new york and 1 to boston showing heading back, is it just a glitch in the system?

Has to be, too much of a coincidence. All turned back at roughly the same point also.

When why has the EI flight to Boston turned back also?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,800 ✭✭✭Comhrá

Of course, didn't notice EI was a Bos flight.

EIN1AC seems to be "facing" the right way now and heading back towards BOS. Just a glitch it appears. BAW1 and AUA89 still showing as heading back to Europe.

    EI-EAV now turning around also? (A330 dub-bos)

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,192 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

SNN-JFK with Aer Lingus cancelled today due to Dublin being short an aircraft.

None of these aircraft have turned around, all Flightradar errors.

FR24 was never the same since the 'makeover' recently. Very clunky and buggy.

Horrible to use, you now have to search to find the information you want.

Every update since 2014 has made it progressively worse, to the point where I can't use the desktop site anymore due to its sheer awkwardness.
