Did it just go into land but abort? Was down to 150mph and 1200ft over the runway but powered up and climbed

Did it just go into land but abort?

Planned missed approach for visual inspection of the landing gear. (Nose gear I believe).

Did it just go into land but abort?

It was a planned go around so engineers on the ground can have a look at the nose gear.

I hope someone was there with a camera :)

It will come back onto the Shannon frequency now once it climbs a bit.

Approx 10 mins till approach. Taking a long final approach to burn off a little more fuel.

Nothing scheduled to arrive until 15:40 local, last departure was at 13:10 local.

Long gap in the middle of the day with no services at all.

What is B763 767-33A heading towards Shannon now from Qatar?

Edit never mind - it is probably American troops.

    Above pic as on AvHerald.

Indeed it did land safely, albeit needing a tow off the runway.

I love the way the cows are nonchalantly grazing away in the background whilst all of this is unfolding....:D

I see the gear doors are down in that picture. I recall the EI 757 that returned to JFK with a hydraulics problem advised ATC they would be landing with gear doors down and would require towing from the runway.

Don't know a lot about this but just asking.
Did he declare an emergency as the article states? And would that not have been signified with a Squawk of some sort? Thanks

Just leaving now. I wonder did it have some B757 parts to deliver to a certain UA aircraft.
