That is absolutely stunning, great pics too !

OT,and probably obvious, but whats the story with the beautiful machinery always in the airport? Are they typically "commuter" cars or left there for safe keeping while owners swan around elsewhere?

They are probably safer in the short term airport carpark than at home.... 24hr security, unlikely to get towed away, won't be lifted onto a flatbed, an alarm will alert security staff and some of the best cctv in the country.... More likely to get a door ding though!!!

There is an executive and chauffeur parking area in Dublin airport. Its the "Gold package" here.... https://www.airportclub.ie/

At €3k/year you would want to be doing a lot of flying, but some people are obviously using it. It has the added benefits that oral surgeon pointed out above.

EDIT: No, I do not use it :):)

I didn't see any of those Ferraris! I would have liked to have stayed longer but had to leave early. Marcin, that must have been you talking with Dave and Barry, I should have introduced myself! :o

Yes it was me :) Funny, it's second time when we staying beside each other and don't know that it's us.

Ferraris were there for good while but parked in place you wouldn't expect they can be maybe thats why you didn't see them.

I was only there for a hour and a half, most of which was talking to people before I had to leave. Next time!

Never seen one of these before.

2013 Vauxhall Ampera. Thought it was a Prius at first glance.

It's the equivalent of the Chevrolet Volt, there's also a Opel version. Am I right in thinking the engine only acts as a generator to charge the batteries rather than drive any wheels?

wow - that seems incredibly wasteful, to carry around an engine all the time just to charge the batteries?

It's a plug-in Hybrid that uses the petrol engine as a range extender. BMW i3 does something similar.

I suppose it starts to make sense when you can do without a gearbox/transmission.

Still, I prefer the Toyota hybrid model, where they can be used together to increase power.

IVVCC car show in Punchestown today. My photography skills do these cars no justice. Hopefully Marcin was there to get better shots

Loads of the old Fords there. The workmanship on show was stunning. There is one in particular showing via a load of framed photos the heap of scrap that was found and then you see the final outcome after years of work. Brilliant skills.

Nice shots Damien thanks for sharing. I only took these few shots of the really prestige stuff. The lighting and my general lack of camera skills + the crowds made it quite difficult. I would guess that within the display right by the door there might have been around £20m worth of cars? Total guess, I have no clue

They said on facebook earlier in the week that there would be €200 million worth on that stand, there seemed to be a few missing from their list though, one being a blower Bentley which I was looking forward to seeing, but I was lucky enough to see one out and about a few months ago on a trip to Amsterdam. :)

    Christ..that much.

Who owns them or where did they come from? While I do appreciate cars like the above, I wasn't falling over people to get a look, so I didn't read any of the signage etc
