    New Cayenne

    37265763571_70d590be5e.jpg

    New GT2 RS

    37237005122_1fea13937f.jpg

    Couple of Bentleys...

    37408271925_50a746e9d1.jpg

    37408268385_4a04bd3cfc.jpg

And the new Bentley Continental GT- looks better in the metal than in my rubbish photo

    37408281305_cc77dca04b.jpg

So, what do you do when you're a footballer/unlicenced pharmaceutical wholesaler when your Bentley Bentayga isn't powerful or ugly enough? You give it to Startech to mod it to 700+ bhp and make it look even more tacky than stock :)

The site is huge. In one part they had set up a little test track to demonstrate autonomous braking where test dummies "walked" out in front of you, as well as a drag race between an e-golf and a Golf Gti from 0-50kph, which the e-golf won.

    36555972194_ee038cdf0c.jpg

The 4x4 test track was back this year- pro drivers scaring the bejaysus out of people by showing them what these cars are capable of doing off-road, not that too many will ever need to find out.

    Jaguar i-Pace concept

    37237193312_0947abbe4b.jpg

Jaguar E-Pace. It's quite a small car- looks better than an Audi Q3 though.

    Range Rover Sport SVO

Kia had their new Stinger on show- fast saloon that generated a lot of attention on the stand and to my eyes doesn't look half bad. That name though... it's crying out for a magazine or newspaper to take it for a lap around the Nurburgring- just for the headline alone:)

    37266144641_b49b07fdc0.jpg

Ford had a new Fiesta ST to show off

    37266119471_5f31cd5a15.jpg

But the best thing on their stand was the Lego model of the GT40

    37266114391_bfbc8fb8e4.jpg

This is the new VW Tiguan Allspace. It's a slightly longer Tiguan with a 7 seat option, but a much smaller footprint than a Touareg/Q7 etc. Looks quite good too.

    37266068531_968d35f583.jpg

Skoda version is the Karoq, but thats strictly a 5 seater

    37236769422_312d4c5e4a.jpg

Lots of hot hatches on display:

    Fast Hyundai (277hp)

    36597560603_c6762c715f.jpg

Fast Golf (60.5 grand in Germany though!) Golf R Performance, with an Akrapovic exhaust, drilled front discs, speed limiter removed and some carbon bits. Really lovely piece of kit, but 60 grand though...

    37219270966_f8ba02d466.jpg

    Fast Megane- the new RS

    37220156726_a74243a097.jpg

And a fast Opel- the Astra OPC

This is an Aspark Owl. I'd never heard of it either. Japanese, all electric, promising 0-60mph in 2 seconds, production starting 2019... fingers crossed. It does look cool though.

    37237294522_b874cc962c.jpg

    37408650495_0342d47e72.jpg

And on to BMW, who had a massive stand with indoor track, theatre and loads of cars.

New M5 - the carbon roof looks the business

    37219769656_4f45bb17d1.jpg

    Vision E concept

    36596835463_3292e8bba2.jpg

    New X7 Concept

    37266565291_ec547ec5cf.jpg

Stunning new 8 series concept- if I could take one car home from the show this would be it:

    37219432066_e8d848e5f3.jpg

    37010707550_22f0aa1135.jpg

The Z4 Concept looked fantastic too

Finally, a couple of new Lexus and a really neat idea from Opel.

    LS Saloon

    36556740144_7b82dbd44f.jpg

LC Coupe (this is almost as big as the saloon!)
    36556732654_8abca41b9b.jpg

And the Opel bike carrier on the Adam:

Saw a 172 Tesla Model X charging at the Blanchardstown Shopping centre yesterday around 7 pm

Swarms of people around it and I was driving so I couldn't get a snap.

Horrendous looking thing :o could think of better cars to be spending that kind of dough on. (subjective of course)

If it was either a white one on irish 172 plates or a blue one on UK plates it's a regular around there.

I despise the model X, looks like a bloated model s. Much prefer the S myself

I've seen a blue one around the Malahide road a couple of times, not the worst looking car IMO

Yes on 172 D plates, it was either white or a very light silver so I reckon we're talking about the same one

Saw black Dodge Hemi 05C pick up in Cork at weekend - was crossing the street and stopped to let him go - he waved and I made a gesture for him to give it loads - he put the foot to the floor - sounded great - cool guy who ever you are .

That's 'cause in the UK the PHEV was free of BIK for company cars and the PHEV started at the same price as the diesel.
Mitsubishi Ireland decided there would be no demand for that here and brought the PHEV in with a base price €15k above the base diesel.

They can be imported used for a song. A mid-spec 141 PHEV attracts less than €2k of VRT and gets taxed at €170. Good cars for towing too.
