Thats what I don't get, you must be somewhat of a petrol head to put the quad exhausts and badges on but if you are then surely you would see the stupidity of it people

It's gas to see as years go on which cars begin to come into price range for lads that do that sh1te to their cars. Seems the F10 is next to be slaughtered. Pity, as that was a lovely car to begin with.

I'd say they'll be alright. It's hard enough to say what will be ruined next - take the Mk5 GTI as an example, sure some have been driven into the ground but at least the vast majority of them haven't got a stupid bodykit on them.

The big problem with future Golf R's as with any performance car in Ireland will be finding a decent one, when these cars come onto their second/third owners the scrimping will start . I had the same issues looking for any performance car i've owned.

People don't realise that a 40-60k car still has the running costs of a 40-60k car despite the car having only cost you 10-20k.

I think they will be fine as it’s usually the lower powered cars that get the full max power treatment. Audi A4 Tdi RS4 etc...

Speaking of people who mod their cars. A lad here in Kilkenny actually removed the R from his Golf R and replaced it with TDI as he’s hoping it won’t get stolen on him if they think it’s a TDI.

I was one of those who modified my cars. I don’t get all the hate towards it. Some mods are tacky but each to their own.

I've no problem with modded cars but sticking a RS4 badge on your 1.9 Tdi or an M5 badge on your 520d is pathetic.

Any thief that steals high-powered cars for a living will know a Golf R when he sees one, regardless of whether it has an 'R' badge or not. The same goes for RS4, M5, etc.

You cannot see the front bonnet - it had an object kinda like the rolls Royce lady but it was literally in front of the windscreen. Weird!
