That Fisker looks lovely. I'd have one.

Noticed a Dublin reg Lamborghini Murci, possibly an SV, on the Gumball 3000 this year.

How did you like the Skoda Karoq?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

I was sure they had more than 160 horsepower.

  • Registered Users Posts: 51,215 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Sure 160bhp would be great crack in a rwd car that size and weight.

Anyone else find it difficult to tell all the McLaren's apart?!

Great car, does what it sets out to do. Not really suitable for more than two kids if using child seats and isofix. If they were a bit older you’d fit 3. 150bhp TSI engine plenty of power for a crossover, lots of handy things such as a flexible parcel shelf for when you’ve buggies and other kids stuff, all the driving aids like blind spot.

As always the extras push it up but the one I had was €32,000 so still a bit cheaper than the Kodiaq but not the same thing obviously.

Worth a look over the Qashqai though for sure.

That mx5 is gorgeous. If I had the sort of cash I'd be torn between that and the GT-86. How do they compare for smiles I wonder.

I'd also throw the fiat spider into the mix there.
    Very good looking car.

Fiat pretty much is an MX5 right, just with a new engine?

Yeah, same platform. Mazda is 130bhp NA, the 124 is 170bhp 1.4 Turbo.

I had a good look around one before. The body parts fitted by Fiat were all mismatched shades. It looked terrible and wasn't even registered yet. Shame

Sure it wouldn't be a fiat otherwise :)

Doesn’t Mazda build the car in Japan and Fiat only supply the engine? Do you mean the plastic parts where they meet the front wings?

Front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts and other stick on bits were all a dodgy colour compared to the rest of the car. It was an otherwise nice shade of blue. It looked dreadful which was a pity as my first encounter with one was an Abartg version in Italy. It looked great from 10 yards. It could of been the blue colour that made it worse but I'd have refused to take the car if it was mine.

Nice video, I enjoyed listening to it just now

I think you're relatively local-isn to me, I passed a Karoq in the same colour over the weekend on the roundabout at Station/Strand/Coast rd in Portmarnock and wondered if it was you!

    Cheers!

Wasn’t out that way at the weekend but would be in Malahide every other week.

Have a Kodiaq on the driveway now, sitting on the 20s, has side steps and is a sportline and I think it looks really, really well. It’s the 150bhp, I’d like to try the 190bhp for sure. Really think there’s a good chance of a VRS in it.

Mark good videos, your presentation style is unforced and natural, I am impressed. Post up here to generate some subs. You should do an irish "one take" style thing to make sure you review a wide range of cars and not fall into the Bob flavin trap.

The trap where you only review whatever cars the dealers decide they are doling out to you, and you cannot really post a bad review because you need to get more cars off them. Bob Flavin is always at this. (I think he is a good reviewer, and much better on his Sunday podcast where he is a lot more free flowing and honest), and his reviews are fairly boring because of it. If you can source cars elsewhere where there is not pressure on you to give a "mosty positive, jolly and brand approving" review every time.
