I'd love to own a Lotus some day (Elise or Exige) and that blue Silvia is gorgeous also!

What was the event at Mondello?

I'd love an elise with a k20 installation. It was just a track day that was on.

Those nsxs are worth a serious amount now aren't they?

    Wow amazing nsx.

I remember seeing my first lotus Elise, 1998 in a Dunne's carpark. It was amazing in the flesh brand new and it was tiny parked beside a Nissan bluebird .

Not really B, not considering how influential they were*. They go for anything from around 40,000 to 60-70 quids. Even the NSX R, the daddy of the lot(though less comfortable to live with. The standard car is more of a GT) can be had for sub 200,000. Before the Irish gov takes you roughly and dryly from behind with import taxes of course. A very nice R would be closer to 300K alright. But yeah standard NSX's aren't as mad money as you might think. Lovely yoke to drive too. Fantastic visibility. Comfortable, interior is a bit 90's Jap, but that means it won't break and wears the years well. Ditto for the rest of the car. And simple enough that the home mechanic could attempt most jobs on it(and parts are Honda level cost wise, except in the US where they charge "Acura" prices to the gullible). The engines go on forever. There are American guys with 300,000 thou on them and still going. Won't rust either as it's aluminium(though any sort of tip that goes through to the chassis writes it off). Never really overcame the badge snobbery, though was a strong enough seller in the States.

    * for a start it made the Italians sit up and notice and attempt to make their own "supercars" stop breaking down every two miles. Or going on fire. Or being generally crap outside of the engine and overall aesthetic design. Ever sit in something like a Testarossa? Jesus. The interior looks like it was made by a drunk carpenter from MDF and vinyl/leather and creaks like a ninety year old's knee. The pedal position is daft, the steering wheel is two yards away from you and all inputs are heavy as feck. Great sound though.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

That NSX, were 35000s the import numbers back then? Surely not an Irish car in 91?
If I won the lotto, that and an Audi Quattro.

its not a uk import anyway, probably unlikely that its an original Irish car though
