    ZK is Cork

I thought ZK was Cork but only up until 1959. I must've read the charts wrong. Really, this looked as though it had rolled off the assembly line...even better than that as it travelled at least a kilometre without breaking down.

ZK XXXX was a mid 50s allocation, and XXXX ZK was late 70s

I would guess it has had a chassis swap..

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,105 ✭✭✭hi5

It's definitely had something swapped, 9999 ZK was August 1977, the four door Range Rover didn't come out until 1981.

That is an odd Range Rover, it looks the business, but the body looks to be the later 1986 model, because the bonnet / door hinges are hidden and fuel filler cap is behind a flap and the driver door handle has the door lock as part handle.

Someone must have really liked his V8 Rover petrol engine!!!

I've heard of a guy in Leinster somewhere that does some sort of magic on the chassis/reg plates and converts newer ones onto older reg plates to get chape tax.

Wonder is that one of his.

Belfast today. That's my space he is edging into. Decided not to park beside it. If it was a mammy wagon, I would have squeezed in. Lovely machine

Odd way to park for such a car. If it was mine I'd have been as close to the low wall with ivy as possible and climb out the passenger door.

Theres a chap in north dublin (often seen in Balbriggan) with a land rover discovery 1 or 2 (looks like a 2 but could be a facelift) on ZV plates, I remember first seeing it in maybe 2009/2010 and it was on ZV plates then so no way it could be over 30 years old.

I`m assuming there was a bit of trickery done on the plate/registration like you said. I see him often enough I`ll take a pic the next time.

yeah apparently thats exactly it. They often appear on Done Deal for sale.

^ re the Range Rover/Disco trickery, it's my understanding that the chassis is from a 'classic' ie over 30y/o and the body sourced from a later donor vehicle. Not that uncommon.

4 x rolls Royce phantoms/ghosts flanked by 2 x G wagons driving by Heuston, a few minutes ago. All custom UK regs.

Sorry for the poor photo. Grabbed a picture when stopped in traffic (you can see the leading gwagon and rolls Royce)

I did a bit of digging and found they are from http://platinumet.co.uk/

All the regs had PET in them

I met about 20 or more Mazda RX5s this morning heading from Donegal to Sligo. I think they were all on Dutch plates. Stickers on the doors as if they were on some kind of a run. I was driving against them so got no pics.

    MX5 i presume?

There is a Dutch mx5 club doing a tour in Ireland.

Came here the 7th and will leave the 19th.

Would post the website but anything suitable for here, pics, is members only. All text is in Dutch

Crazy when you put it in numbers, the DB4gt Bertone jet is easily €3.8-4 million. The BMW 507 coupe is in the region of €1.8-2 Million. Lamborghini Miura P400 S is most certainly €1+ Million.

The car enthusiasts of Limerick are very privileged to have such a rare and valuable collection as a resident :D

Not a conventional French plate, should have 2 letter to start with

In the past, temporary plates had WW and looking at the paint job, it looks like a temp plate on a new model out for tests.
There is the "92" at the right hand side of the plate. It is the arrondissement the car is registered.

The only car manufacturer in "92" is PSA
