That NSX is in the country about 3/4 months. Brought in from Japan by a guy in Tipperary. Same guy has brought in a high horsepower Supra and a very very rare E24 BMW Alpina.

Anyway, less talk, more car photo's. While ye all enjoyed the 'heatwave', us in cork had a right miserable old day

I'm sure their race-spec tyres are better than the budget road tyres :p

I was working with a guy who said they'd use em for drifting events on grippy surfaces.

Now, to be fair that was back in the days before clean diesel so maybe Nankang have improved just as much.

I've heard them mentioned a bit at the Irish Drifting Championship rounds by the commentator saying they're a very grippy tyre so it must be decent.

Having said that I've had Nankangs on my Yaris and they didn't wear at all and gripped like skis on the wet. Maybe the race-spec tyres are really race-spec :p

That very commentator is the guy driving the car, and the man who runs Irish Drift Championship & the British one now aswell.

More a case of pure and utter dedication to a sport like any athlete and the balls to put every last thing you have on the line in the quest for success at the highest level. What people need to realise is that we have a motorsport here on our hands where the Irish are right up there at the cutting edge both in terms of competing and staging events. The work going into cars up and down the country in small sheds and lockups is staggering, and the days of the snobbery of 'thats a load of boy racers doing skids' is long gone. Long gone are the days that circuit racing of any kind will attract the 10,000 plus attending events in Mondello for IDC these days
