Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Manchester United have defeated Stoke City 11 times in the Premier League, only Chelsea have won against the Potters as often (also 11).
Stoke City have lost all seven Premier League games at Old Trafford against the Red Devils.
Manchester United have scored 32 goals in the Premier League against Stoke City; more than any other team has managed versus the Potters.
After a draw and a win in his first two visits as a Premier League manager to Old Trafford, Mark Hughes has lost the last eight trips there in a row.
Wayne Rooney has scored three goals in his last two Premier League appearances against Stoke at Old Trafford.
This will be Mark Hughes’ 100th Premier League game in charge of Stoke – he’s got a record of W37 D26 L36 so far.
Man Utd have scored just 28 goals in their opening 23 league games this season; their lowest goal tally at this stage of a league campaign since 1989-90 (27).
Louis van Gaal (49.2%) has a lower Premier League win ratio as Manchester United manager than David Moyes (50%).
However, the Red Devils have kept a league-high 11 clean sheets in the Premier League so far in 2015-16.
Manchester United have attempted a joint-league low 35 shots on target at home in the Premier League this season (Sunderland also have 35) – Stoke have attempted more than this away from home (40).

Can Stoke play their new signing?

Knowing our luck he'll be like a young Viera out there tonight

No they can't play him tonight. Registered too late.

I wish Memphis would just get a chance, Lingard's done very little for a good few games now, like having him around as a backup but he's been starting far too much while a much more talented player rots on the bench.

The game will probably follow a similar model as most United home games where for the first 5-10 minutes it looks like there is something more about them and then it just descends into boredom and Stoke grab a sucker punch after United have 99% possession.

I reckon we will see Pereira tonight instead of Lingard.

    No chance, unfortunately.

    I'll go for a 2-2.

I predict I will nap from about the 38th minute to the 77th. I'll wake up in time to see Stoke score.

Our luck? To be honest our luck has left us in a position we don't deserve to be in. We haven't been unlucky in a lot of games imo. We're blessed we're not a million miles away from the top

I'm watching these matches now for no other reason than the bare minimum, because I'm a Man United supporter. Not a twinge of excitement, not a slight feeling of 'this could be the game we score a few and get things going again', nothing, all of that sapped out of me long by now. Sure we could win tonight, but will soon again trip over ourselves or take another 2 steps backwards.

Because of the hiding we got from Stoke just 5 weeks ago and the fact that Old Trafford is not the fortress it was, a draw is the best I expect for United tonight. A draw, at home to Stoke, the current reality of the situation.

Tempted to lump big on 0-0 half time but I just know Stoke would score their single goal first half instead

Think if the defence can hold out I'd fancy us for the nil nil draw.

Typical. First half goal & my usual supplier is down for the first time in ages

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Not entirely convincing defending from that corner. Too easy for crouch to get knock downs

Lvg angry that 2 goals are scored

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,500 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

That was a vintage UTD counter attacking goal. It could have come from the Fergie era.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Why did Rooney stop that mata pass? Martial was in behind Johnson.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

Of course I miss it, was it a team goal or good from martial?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

God it's been long LONG time since seen United start a game like this and score goal like that!
