Well how big will that last 30 seconds of the final be? Going by the preliminary results, very big. With less than a minute of the final to go, patmac was about to go three ahead being the only one of the top three to predict Waterford to win. But 2 lightning quick Clare points meant that Sands81 and Agus got full points along with 7 others.

So that means that, after all the league games are (finally) completed, Sands81 is top of the pile on 157 points, 1 ahead of Agus in second and three ahead of patmac. But that doesn't include the initial predictions made all the way back in February. I'll calculate those scores now

We have ourselves a tie!
After the initial predictions were calculated, the joint winners of the 2016 NHL Pools competition are Agus and patmac! They got 10 and 12 bonus points respectively to overhaul Sands81 at the top but nothing can separate them. Sands81 finished one agonising point behind both of them.

In a way it's a double for both winners. patmac retains the title he won last season and Agus does a 2016 league football and hurling double.

As far as the initial predictions go, without a doubt the biggest surprise was Armagh defying the odds in division 2B to go up as champions. I don't think anyone managed to predict that.
Of all posters, HatchetMan7 was most successful with the initial predictions, getting 7 out of 11 correct.

So congratulations to both Agus and patmac. Try not to fight too much over the title! Thank you to everyone who took part over the last 3 months or so.

Thanks hammer and congrats Agus, could go on like a Waterford fan and blame the bollix of a ref , but in pure management speak a draw was a fair result and I look forward to the championship this summer.
