Cassidys of westmoreland street is a cool spit and sawdust craft beer pub. Bowes of fleet street is a solid pub. The gresham hotel is probably the place to go for a fancy drink in fancy environs!

Sweetmans around the corner is a nice place, usually quiet.

Buskers is great, great music but a bit pricy.

Don't forget Gallahers offer BYOB and charge a small corkage fee only. Worth remembering!

As Johnny says Bowes is a great pub for a couple of beers and only 2 mins walk away from where you are going

What's the occasion / who with?
Romantic / lads / girls etc...?
You may want a fancy cocktail in the Merrion hotel around the corner.
Doyle of College green is nice for a pint.
Mulligans is nearby if you / others going are guinness heads.
Chaplins is a lovely quiet pub around the corner also.
Cassidys if you want something a bit cooler / hipstery

+1 for Bowes! One of the few traditional pubs left in Dublin for a nice pint.

Another vote for Bowes. Proper Dublin pub, one of the best.

The Long Stone and McSorleys are also nearby, both are decent pubs

Well you opinion is wrong then, it's a kip full of hens, stags and skangers.

OP check out the Mint bar in the Westin Hotel. A really nice way to start your evening in a relaxing ambiance with great service. Very nice cocktails too.

Palace Bar also worthy of consideration here.
