can anyone tell me where does the adapter comes in when calculating swingweight? Adapters can be up to 12g. Do you include it in the head weight?

You need a swing weight scale to be able to determine swing weight - but if you buy a club new with a given swing weight then you decide to shorten the shaft for example, then you add weight to the head to keep it at the same swingweight.

This is how heavy the head feels when swinging - if you shorten the club and add no weight then it will feel lighter. Ping G30 is a good example - has a weight so that they can offer custom shaft lengths and keep the swing weight the same by changing the weight in the head.

All new clubs have a stated swing weight on manufacturer's website

Not sure how accurate this calculator is but see link below.

Read somewhere that you can get a blank or old CD, Cut a V Notch in it and sandwich it in a vice or something upright, and then balance club in it and measure from this balance point to end of grip, input into below website and put in the club weight and it gives you the swing weight. As I said I don't know how accurate it is and don't know much about fitting, perhaps someone can check compared to their known swing weight driver?
