    I've got fresh dates before at the Asian Foodstore at Baker's place. Asian shops are usually the best for dates/figs etc and half the price of what you'd buy in The Market.

    The stall on the right as you go into the Market at the entrance on Kebab row (Corn market Row) has them

    The 24hr Kwik-e-mart on Henry street usually has a nice selection of fresh fruit and veg including a lot of things you probably wouldn't find in Dunnes or Tesco. Might be worth a shot.
