    Any update from Tallaght anyone?

Brisk wind coming off the hills bring the occasional shower. Calming into the morning with no chance of frost. I think the Shamrock Rovers AGM may also be on.

Really? What makes you so sure?

Because they barely even exist as a group anymore.

They are more concerned with events up north. Why would they be so bothered about sf down south who everyone knows wont get into power anyway. Its a ridiculous theory.

Garda are sealing off an area now, looking like it's true. https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=tallaght&src=tyah

I don't think you should wear the badge I will send you in public, might be arrested, maybe just wear it at home, though your friends & family no doubt already know exactly what you are...

Aren't the majority of their membership from Louth and Dublin?

If you don't understand why dissidents would be anti SF in the North/South or wherever you don't have much of a grasp on things. They despise SF and those members of the PIRA who ordered the end of the conflict.

On a side note, I know the Independent has turned into a badly-formatted rag, but who proof-read this crock of s***? There's more errors in it than a leaving cert maths exam.

Yes I'm fully aware which is why claiming the attack thinking it will damage sf is the most ridiculous thing ever.

Why would claiming the attack damage Sinn Fein when everyone knows sf are nothing to do with dissidents.

Seriously it makes no sense, its pure nonsense.

Tallaght Echo confirming shooting in Kilnamanagh area sealed off no injuries.

No link but on the FB page.

These things gotta happen every five years or so, ten years. Helps to get rid of the bad blood. Been ten years since the last one. You know, you gotta stop them at the beginning. Like they should have stopped Hitler at Munich, they should never let him get away with that, they was just asking for trouble.

The post you replied to make me loose faith in some of the citizens of this country.

To actually believe something like that.

This is the tripe we are hearing from the left nowadays.

Complete fantasy. Everything is due to enda Kenny.

I'm not the left, whatever that means anyway.

It's also not beyond the realms of possibilty so to dismiss it as fantasy shows more naivety than anything else.

Yes like everyone else does. We all know the cira are nothing to do with sf.

So why would claiming it damage Sinn Fein?

Anyway they have denied making the call.

So I was right all along, pure nonsense.

The BBC reported that it was a coded message so it was someone ITK who made the original claim.

So because of the claims our dear leader tied SF with the attack directly.

Gerry Adams has had to release a statement distancing SF from the attack.

If you can't see how that could be damaging to Sf in the eyes of many people then there's no point talking to you.

Just as an aside, you ask why would the CIRA care about SF in the south.

Here's a quote from Adams that might clarify it for you.

"Incidentally, the same group has me and other Sinn Fein reps under active death threat. This was confirmed to me by the PSNI in recent months."

The penthouse apartment, the money, the cars, the cocaine, the parties. Hard men doing whatever they wanted and for the most part getting away with it and being both feared and respected by their underlings.

All that would seem glamorous to the kinds of people who get into that business.

The impression I always got is that there are a lot of guys from respectable backgrounds who are involved in the business side of these outfits that will earn decent money with very little risk of stopping a bullet.

You think the hard cases who left school at 15 are running import and shipping businesses?

That's a bit of an out of the blue question.

    The answer would be no.

Not sure the relevance to this topic though.

"Reports that Gardai from Tallaght now investigating complaint 'of a second shooting' in Kilnamanagh #irelandlive #dublin"

I'd say that the 1st attempt failed and they have succeeded on the 2nd attempt.
