Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    It makes perfect sense.
There is bound to be other subversive/gangs that have issues with the hutches and their activities!

Took the media days to find out the truth which is funny, they have been printing stories how the cartel wacked him and now back track without saying listen we ****ed up all week running the kinahan story.

    Agreed.
These hacks just want to get the story out there first, which is why they are all Twitter junkies.
The truth, nobody gives a **** about the truth! ;)

The Mirror running a headline- 'Gardai seek Monk to warn over Kinahan threat".
That must've been quite a Stop The Press moment in the newsroom.

Operational reasons is keeping any info back on the 2 arrested yesterday over Garreth's murder.

I said it before- the longer this goes on the more supply of product issues are going to arise on the North side.

RTE did a piece on prime time last night, about OAP who live in ballybough in the inner city, and they are afraid to live their homes.

The guy who murdered gareth hutch was still paid by the cartel they were from the same area and he had an altercation with ross and pulled a knife on him and gareth ran out with a bat and chased him up the road. The guy whos name i cant write here then rang around cartel members in dublin to see if there was a price on gareths head and was told he would be paid a 5 figure sum if he took him out and he did the next morning

~ So as mentioned before, he is an out and out coward. Pulled a knife, and ran away when confronted.

Serious question though, Is this fact or at least word on the street, or just what's been reported in todays paper? i.e independent repeated this story word for word. And as someone already pointed out, if it took them 4 days to find out about this dispute that happened the night before. It doesn't say a lot about the credibility about their other headline grabbing, paper selling, front pages.

I was told about the dispute the next day by someone I barely know. He had said that many of the locals believed it was that guy that did it, and that was before the papers said anything.
I thought it sounded a bit far fetched at the time, but it seems to be true. The altercation part anyway.

Yeah I defnitley believe that part, just have a few doubts about the "last minute phone calls to the Kinahan enforcer" and " 5 figure sums" part. Is it a case of link it with the Kinahans for the greater good, no matter what?

Headline with kinahan, hutch, shooting , sells lots of papers which equals more money, its a vicious circle.

I think I read an article saying a kinahan associate was seen in the Octavia a few days before the shooting. Not 100% sure though.

its been printed in the paper and its word on the street but seems to be true as the guys not around the area anymore him and ross were supposed to get into a bit of a shouting match nothing serious and he pulled a blade to scare him then gareth came out with the bat and he ran off. the hutches and there mates would be very feared in the area and he knows that as he would of grown up around them he wasnt expecting the 2 boys to start making threats to him after it and he thought that if he killed gareth he could take the money and **** off which i presume he did he was convicted of been in a INLA bomb factory before im sure this link and if you check the addresses will point you in the right direction i dont think this is breaking the thread rules since its an old news story

He must've really feared for the safety of his child alright to get a bat and chase someone up the road during a time when there's a price tag on his head.
He was either a complete liar (like they all are) or an absolute moronic thug (like they all are)

im not sticking up for any side but with the amount of family members they are after losing to murder in such a short space of time and then to hear that another one is been threatened by a convicted bomb maker up the road with a knife most people would run up and try to protect them, that family cant be mentally stable at the minute with the amount of close relations there losing to murder and the constant threat of been killed hovering over their own heads

    I don't buy any of that ****e.
Self preservation is what you do, not tool up and act like you can do as you please.
Most people wouldn't try and take on a bomb maker wielding a knife.

his cousin was being threatened with a knife by a man known to be violent and you'd expect him to sit in and watch it all go by.
family means something to some people...i guess you aren't one of them

The letter he sent to the social didn't mention his cousin, but his child.
    I expected all this ****e.
Every time one of the family is murdered, he was admirable, honourable , was protecting his family......blah blah blah.
They inflicted enough terror and misery on other people, karma is always a prick.

The posters are using the word bomb maker to gain traction that he was doing something honourable, taking on a bomb maker.

yea it did mention his child because he knew there was a contract on his head from the cartel and he didnt want to be killed in his flat in front of his child. In this case he was protecting a family member and it got him killed nobody said he was honorable or admirable but he was killed for sticking up for a family member. Alot of people are inflicting terror and misery on our streets not just inner city criminals but the bankers that destroyed the country by your logic do they all deserve to be shot to death on the streets?

you don't put yourself in these situations how can you help it if someone pulls a knife on your cousin? as i said before what i say on here is only rumour not 100 percent facts but at least i don't be gloating about people been murdered saying karma got them

I have never stated at any stage in these threads that any of them deserved to die, so cop on!
What I have a problem with is defending these guys as being innocent, admirable or deserving of sympathy!

was that you condoned them been killed

Nope, I do see the value of human life and I'm using it as a way of suggesting it would've happened at some stage to certain types of people and I cannot sympathise.

8 years sentence given in 2009 and should be still behind bars, and therein lies part of the problem with Law & Order in this Country.

Whats being overlooked by the media is why the kinahans got an armed escort from the minute they stepped off the plane for Byrnes funeral, incredible really they had an armed motor cade from the airport to Hotel and protection while here,I doubt anyone on the opposite side of this fued has been given the same perks.

    That's true!
It seems to suggest that the guards fear the family are more of a threat to law and order at this moment in time, possibly because of disso involvement.

Did the hutches rule the north inner city threw fear or shear number of family and associates before all this?

If the latter was true, then you would see less information being leaked from inside their crew and possibly a lot more people being murdered that don't share the name.

They have never ruled the inner city per say,the criminals in the family are not main players with any sort of decent money,The Monk is the only one with a brain between them at business,Gary would've been the highest ranked gangland figure in the family and that says it all really.

no matter what sentence you get in this country 25 percent is automatically knocked off for remission so an 8 year sentence in reality is a 6 year sentence, then with good behavior and do a few courses inside you can get out even earlier

I also thought that was very strange at the time.

Walking through the Airport with bags full of cash for the Funeral extravaganza. No customs check, but carry an extra sleeve of cigarette through Customs and Bruce (Stop Serarch and Seize) will haul you aside.

the hutches are just a large inner city family they would have a small few major criminals with the monk gary was one but hes dead delboy could be classed as one and maybe patrick, a lot of them would be addicts who commit petty crime and then there is a large bunch of decent ones but most of them have a price on their head now, the main players in the feud wouldnt even be hutches they would be just friends of the major criminals with hutch surnames
