Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Harsh enough on cole. Tight call but Gray was still involved in the tackle

    Englands indiscipline will cost them.

Bit of tempo from Scotland here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Thought Farrell should slot that. England are making heavy weather of this.

Scotland's disruption at the rucks had been excellent, England getting no quick ball.

    Good try, in fairness.

All the kickers today are having a bad day.

England well worth their lead, taking their chances when they come, Scotland same old story, doing nothing with loads of possession!

Scotland working very hard for no reward.

Hate that law, no much more he could have done.

Same ****, different year from Scotland. Useless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

How did England not score there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

A better kick from Russell could have seen a potential try.

England up to their usual scrum tricks by the look of that one

Scotland really are poor, mistake after mistake, cant even secure their own lineout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,742 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

    Maitland is dreadful

Some of the English tacklers are taking their sweet time rolling away. Lucky not to get penalised really.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,931 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Really silly mistakes at crucial moments costing Scotland dearly.

    Match has become very scrappy.

If Scotland are going to break the English defence, it will more than likely come through Hogg.
Has been very lovely in this game.

At last someone slots a decent kick this afternoon!

Happy enough to have Laidlaw as my fantasy 9

Was the one the French got to ultimately win the game not a decent kick??

Absolute belter of a kick that was.

You're right - it was great. A lot of kicks missed though.

If Scotland are winning, they always screw it up at the last moment. If they're losing, well they're losing. Years of hair-wrenching experience...What happened to the days of Gavin Hastings and so on....we were a good team in the day!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That was idiotic of Farrell to shove Laidlaw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Hahaha, delighted against that twat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

And there's Farrell's moment of general nastiness that we usually get at least once per game.

Followed up with Grumpy Brown being himself

Did he really expect to get away with that?

Really lack ball carrying in the pack. Without that and against a very good England defence you're expecting a clean break from a back which would be rare as hen's teeth really.

From his face, I think he hoped to yeah. I don't know what goes through his head... mind you, it's always short of being a yellow, so he keeps getting away with it. Maybe it's all completely calculated to wind people up.

    That sums up Scotland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Scotland have to work so hard for every yard they make. They need to be smarter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

All huff and puff but once again Scotland were never really going to break the defensive line.

It'll be interesting to see how Ireland cope with them.

So this is England under their new coach. Looks a bit like the old England to me.

Bollocks, but no surprise...Scotland were always on the defense.

At least we have some ball carriers and should be able to get some momentum. Scotland couldn't break the England defence because they were getting their ball slowed down and were always facing a set defence. The only time they made headway was when they made a half break and could recycle quickly.

England's defence won that for them.

Really pathetic stuff from England. Farrell was an absolute disgrace giving that penalty away with around 10 mins left. They'll be scratching their heads at once again at the end of the tournament wondering about points difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

England the deserved winners really. Not much in it but England just more clinical in attack.

Have the ball carrier of vinipolo in back row and he was immense really.

Same as per usual from Scotland though. Lots of effort but going knowhere.

Same as always from Scotland. The annual 'dark horse' prove to be unfortunately inept.

A bit like Ireland in that respect. Except every 4 years at the world cup.

think it shows the huge gulf between the pro12 and international rugby.

I don't think people were basing anything off the pro 12. They were by far the closest of any northern hemisphere team to making the semis in the world cup, and that was against Australia.

Bollocks, but no surprise...Scotland were always on the defense.

Just out of interest, I was in a pub watching the match and EVERYONE was shouting for Scotland - or more so, against England.
    Why?
(Personally I think England are the better team and easily deserved to win the match)
