So I picked this up in the current steam sale and give it a quick go last night. Is anyone else playing it. Seems like a fantastic Left 4 Dead type game and since I've played those games so much I've had my fill of them it's great to have an alternative. The focus on melee combat is refreshing and controls well and the classes all seem like great fun to use. The loot system should add some replay value as well. Apparently it's being well supported by the developer and should be coming to consoles in the next few weeks. The game really requires team work though, the AI will single out and target any lone warriors or stragglers.

Now I just need to convince some friends to buy it.

I was playing a good bit when it first came out, but haven't done so lately, must give it a go again because it was especially fun playing with other boardsies.

Gameplay is far too repetitive to hold any long term interest for me. I really, really enjoyed the gameplay for the first few hours but it gets tedious all too fast. The characters are pretty much identical, too: Bright Wizard and four fighters. Everyone has the same foot speed, the same hitpoints, the same jump height, largely the same weapons. Waywatcher is slightly different having a bit more emphasis on rapid fire arrows - that's it.

They seem to be depending on lust for loot for long term goals, which isn't my cup of tea at all. They've doubled down with the latest patch, adding a new loot-altar where you can gamble loot tokens for other loot etc. I look at loot-chasing the same way I look at casinos: baffling that anyone could be interested.

I'd be much more interested in a patch that added new characters with fundamentally different playstyles.

I would like new characters and new enemies.
