    Absolutely,
I'm consistenly getting ~50-70mbps day and night. I game a lot and theres no hitches or rubberbanding or anything of the sort. Ping to EU/UK servers are generally around 35-50ms.

I spoke to Imagine a few weeks ago. They checked my Eircode and told me that I wouldn't get a signal.

I was told the same from my eircode but I told them I had neighbours on each side of me with it and he said okay and sent the lads out and I got installed

It's weird isn't it. My eircode is telling me I'm definitely out of coverage yet the tech girl in sales reckons they can"fit me in". I'm in clare btw

I paid deposit yesterday so hoping I won't be too long waiting for installation. In Ahascragh in Co Galway. Anyone know of speeds around that area?

Not sure, had an outage this morning, it looked like a DNS issue, the tech guy was able to connect to their router. He suggested a reboot but he changed something on the router as well, so was probably his change that fixed it. He may have put in 8.8.8.8 as an alt DNS, who know. Annoying not being able to check the router config pages.
I'm on the athy mast btw.

i just had an outage there for about 15mins. Internet literally wouldnt work. I changed back to Imagine DNS whilst net was down. Back working now and imagine DNS seems fine for the moment. Will update again if goes down.

I had similar, but it wasn't all sites. Boards & Gmail were fine, but neither Twitter nor Reddit would work.

They're just representative samples, not anything scientific...

Also, I don't use Imagine or Google DNS.

out of interest what DNS do you use? Opendns?

I run a local caching DNS server (bind on Linux), which currently goes directly to the root DNS. I have used various forwarders before, including Imagine, Ripplecom (when I was a customer), Google and OpenDNS. In the end though, I generally just leave it as a caching resolver, and let it build a cache from there.

All my internal clients then use my DNS server.

This basic idea, but with a twist (I have my own internal DNS zone also served by the same server).

The DNS forwarder in home routers does exactly the same thing; I just like messing with computers and stuff. :-)

I'm having a strange issue tonight where any images are not loading in facebook. It's happening on my laptop and on my phone. If I turn off wireless on the phone and refresh it using 4g there is no issue so it seems to be with Imagine. Speed is not the issue as you can see below so I'm at a bit of a loss

Same here, same symptoms you describe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,167 ✭✭✭TopTec

Ditto. 80% of images on twitter won't load.

I mailed Imagine after the last DNS issue. 13 days later I got a response saying that I should used a wired connection and not wireless to solve the issue.

So ridiculous I didn't bother arguing. I suspected they got me confused with someone else's fault..... but I wonder!

    TT

You'll have to change each device individually as you can't access the Imagine router.

There has been a major DDOS going on since approx 4pm - Level 3 (Tier 1 provider) has been hardest hit, affecting many downstream providers.

I actually use my own router as my wireless router so I plug a cable from a network port on imagine's into the wan port on my own router. Then in the internet settings of my own router I set the dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

You can also specify the dns settings on your laptop if you can't access the imagine router
