Hmm, thanks for that Morgana. Any issues with gaming while somebody else is doing something heavy like HD YouTube/Netflix?
No, I haven't noticed any problems with Netflixing (not in HD though) and gaming at the same time (2 people in the household).

That's good to hear. Hmm, I might just have to hold on so and see how the whole thing plays out.

Anyone else going on the Athy mast? And, if so, did you get any dates or anything yet? Last text message I got said there was a delay and site is to go live mid November, they'll contact me within 10 days after that to organise an installation. So could be December for me! xD

One last question for people in general - Does anyone who has had an installation have any major obstructions and no line of sight and still got signal? I'm worried about the land as I am kind of up a hill and on the over side, theres a lot of trees in the distance and no real line of sight!

Ok It's installed in a shed/workshop/office 80 metres from the house
Here's what we have on the plc up at the house at the end of that cable run

    No complaints so far :)

I'd say you're delighted with that!

Let us know how peak speeds are please!

Can you see the high site with a set of binoculars?
100 metres of cat5E outdoor would be €60 if you can find a less obstructed place within or at that distance that has a better LoS even though binoculars
You needn't spend anything at first just get them to test at that location

Would you mind taking a screenshot of the page in your router indicating what DB you are receiving?

Would be an interesting comparison tool if you are receiving the best of the best

Can't see the high site, with or without binoculars :)
I live in a cottage just over a hilly area. No other buildings to attach an antenna to and run cable from, so I may be kind of fecked in that regard!

Just for reference- yesterday was the first evening that Netflix started to give up on me and became pixelated. That'd better not become the norm. Even my 2Mb Eircom BB never gave me the pixels..

Speeds in the evening have now started to slow and whereas I would usually have 15Mbps min. in evening , yesterday my lowest was 2...

Will keep an eye out as I can live with 10-15 but not with 2. Even now it is barely touching 20 and it is only 4 PM..

that's brilliant, I really hope it stays that way for you and not suffer the problems some others have been getting.

Keep screenshots and details of how good your connection is now, just incase you need it later as proof that your connection should be like that most of the time.

as for the dance off it it will have to wait till Eir eventually get to me! looks like it will be sometime after January 2017 at this stage.

meanwhile this will have to do for me.

My SamKnows box reported a speed of 101Mb/s at 5am once. It won't last for him.

Imagine are advertising in Gorey for LTE broadband. Has anyone signed up to this service in the Belcarrig Hill area of Ballycanew and what speeds are you getting.

    Guys,
Anyone know the admin password for the GemTek router wvrtm-127ACN. I rang imagine and they told me that thay are currently not allowing customers to access the router because of security. My problem is that I need to add my dyndns account to the router but I'm not going to give them my password for the obvious security concerns.
Wonder if i am the only one who got the user manual for gemtek router ?basically, installers just left the empty box with the user manual in it.

Glad to see you are getting some nice speeds there ArKl0w....... :)

i'm finding speedtest.net is giving me very low figures when i compare to fast.com...... which do you trust?

I've compared both sites for over a week now and fast.com is always much higher.....

heres what im seeing right now at 7pm using both sites:

    speedtest.png

    versus

    fastcom.png

im about 17km's from the site without direct line of site and heres the lte info from the router:

Try a UK server such as Liverpool or London . I find they give me correct speeds compared to Irish servers
