do they get fined by revenue or something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,812 ✭✭✭✭evolving_doors

    Still nuthin!

Checked a thread last year and it wasn't until 19th of March when some people just got it!

Just thinking, if the Revenue commissioners fine the Dept. of Ed. every year, then is that money they/we can do without???

We (ailing pensioners) got ours a few weeks ago. Dated 3rd February. Different payroll of course.

AFAIK, employer have to issue P60s by 15th February. Needless to say, not all employers comply and the Public Service employers are the worst offenders.

What's your panic in getting it?

well I would like to get my taxback from last year to pay for either my home insurance in April!
it's not too much to ask to have it by the start of month 4 of the new payroll year

Revenue commissioners can provide you with the information if you contact them. No need to stress out over it.

    Yes they can

    I have already called in
they do not have it on file
they told me to come back in when I have the p60 with the exact figured

the figures are also not online
I can not enter them online as I don't have the p60

it is the same every year

sure if I didn't need the p60 ID have it done myself by now

    Ask for a p21

    Ask for a p21

Unless Revenue have your pay and tax details on file, that's pointless.

    Ask for a p21

I kneo how the system works
    I know I need a p21
I also know I need a p60 before I can be issued a p21 as all income and tax paid has to be accounted for before it can balanced

Unless you are suggesting the dept don't pay tax then it's on file.

    You can be issued a p21 without a p60

I have called into the revenue office
I have been told it's not on file for me and will not be until p60 is issued

what do you think I went in for ?
    I'm out
hope they come soon so I can get my tax back

    You can be issued a p21 without a p60

According to the Revenue website, you cannot:
"Note: It is not possible to issue a P21 for a particular year until you have received your P60 from your employer for that year." (Source)

This is my experience also, although I was told this over the phone. I'm waiting for the DoES to supply my P60 before I can receive the refund from Revenue that I applied for (via uploading the relevant documentation on the PAYE Anytime website) in January. I was told by the DoES last January that P60s are issued in mid-February.

PS: The quickest way to process your requests is via the 'upload' facility on the PAYE Anytime website. Scan the relevant document - e.g. proof of tuition fees paid, P60, etc - and upload it to that site. I received a response within 2 hours. Don't bother using snail mail.

Unless you are suggesting the dept don't pay tax then it's on file.

Look, I'll make this as simple as possible. Revenue have no idea of yours or anyone else's pay or tax details until employers tell them by filling an end of year P35 detailing all of their employees pay and tax details for the preceeding tax year. Usually when the employer files their P35, they also provide individual P60's to their employees.

If Revenue haven't received a P35 and you haven't a P60, then requesting a review of the prior tax year from Revenue, which would normally generate a P21, is pointless.
Sometimes the timing is off and employees get their P60's from their employer before the P35 is filed, but for the most part by the time you get your P60, Revenue already have the same information.

Also, you can always opt to manually input your own pay and tax details online via your PAYE ANYTIME account using your final payslip of 2015, which will generate a P21 for you. A word of caution with that though. You really would want to be very sure of the details you input as errors in entering the figures can cause unnecessary issues.

Was speaking with Payroll this morning and I was informed P60s are being printed at the moment and we should have them by the end of next week.
