Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Duke I just done a fake quote with 123.ie on your Panda and got a quote of just under a €1000 TPFT and €1500 fully comp.

Yeah to be fair it came down to a reasonable (I use the term loosely) amount with just myself on the policy, but thats not viable. Cheaper to just insure the A6 (a bigger, more powerful car..)

I'm going to go with a 12 year old non license holder.

How the ever living fcuk can any insurance industry type claim with a straight face that 1500 quid comp is within an asses roar of a valid price off a bloody Panda. The 7k quote beggars belief.

    Irish insurance industry earlier.

And for the last 30 years.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,839 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Honestly, I'd ring up the insurance company with that quote and ask them to justify the quote.
I wouldn't insure that as fully comp btw, pay 7k to the thieves, write off the car and they give you 1.5k.
And you wonder then why people risk driving without it.
7k for a ****ing panda like.

I can't complain about the price I got quoted this year for my BZ-R Levin. It was less than what I got quoted on Dukes Panda. TPFT as I if I wrapped it I would just buy another car.

What am I missing here? Why are multiple insurance companies quoting you €7,000+ for a Fiat Panda?

Word has got out that Duke changes cars as often as he changes underwear, and companies are sick of filling out the paperwork so pricing him out of the market.

    Oh, and enjoy the ban.

Cheers, thanks for the speculation. If you must know those quotes are for me (full license, 1 Year ncb) and a permit holder with no history.

Think whatever you want though, I really couldn't care less

You might like this so... Fairly different from when I first got it, racking up the miles quite fast too, I only washed it last night!

Very happy with how the car turned out nonetheless :)

An old mate of mine called to me on Thursday evening.
He wanted to check out my car.
He went off to London and bought on Saturday.
He was driving through London an a cyclist smashed his mirror.

I might very well buy it from you. I had a regular Panda before my 500 and absolutely loved it. Only sold it because I got a great deal on the 500. Would need to get it checked over by my mechanic though.

Just need to mull this over between now and tomorrow.

Picked up the Sabeth 9-3 last week. So far so good, very comfy car. Only 2 faults, cigarette lighter doesn't work, think its faulty fuse. The mirror mounts are turning grey instead of black but all easily fixable.
This will be the main car hopefully for a few years
