Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Picked up an early Christmas present the other day. It's not a BMW this time though so not sure if I'm allowed post it!

Feel sad though as I will definitely miss the 5 series. Going to give it one last polish over the break and then put it up for sale.

Well wear Turk. The cost of wrapping paper for it alone would have me penniless.

    Bit of a sleeper.

Looks like a 520d, only the tail pipes and big brake discs give it away to a trained eye.

Interesting one bazz...never knew brake discs were larger. Googled it and apparently up to 530d are the same as 520d.

Cheers man, to be honest I had to cheat a little at the man maths to justify it!
Will definitely miss the e60 when I sell it though. Have it for almost seven years and the only problem I had with it was a broken coil spring.
Touch wood this is the same but from all reports it could cost a fortune just to keep it on the road.
The garage I bought it from gave me a one year warranty but I don't think I would put too much faith in it at the same time.

Only just got the front bumper repaired from a guy running into it in another car park about a month ago.

I swear the thing must attract idiots, that's the 3rd incident this year.

Its was in the main retail park in town we believe, wife had the car and didn't notice until one or two stops later, but, based on where she was parked and the CCTV I managed to have a look at at one of the places, I've narrowed it down to that. Problem is, the retail car park is massive and not very well covered where she had parked, so just gonna have to fork out myself.

I seen a person do this in a car park to a nearly new BMW 5 series and drive off, managed to catch her and take the keys out of her car until she agreed to leave the details for the driver, and I left mine too just to make sure they got compensated properly, as, I'd hate to have it done to me. Karma, it seems, does not exist.

One of my got hit three times last year too, rear light cluster, rear bumper, side mirror and the last hero managed to rip the front tire off the wheel. Not a single note.

On the fronts everything up to a 530i/525d has the same brakes. For the rears only the 550i and 535d have larger brakes (all the lower powered models have the same rear brakes).

    Newest addition to the fleet.
Will throw up better photos when she's cleaned and polished.

    1.2 L, 16 v, 85 horses, 900 kg LHD. Classic insurance
Christ it's a fun little thing to drive and fairly chuckable.
Not sure what the plan is for it. Tested until next December, taxed until the end of January. A road trip across Europe in her may be in the pipeline, perhaps visit the ring again.
Not a bad way to spend 450 quid

Tbf they are a very quirky car. Something about them I always liked.
Some of the ones I see in Italy can be pretty well totted up too.
Is that the one that was for sale in Kerry for ages? Italian import?

Each to their own. I have a punto sitting in a industrial estate in limerick you can buy if you want even more italian stuff. The only thing I have left from my selling cars days.

It is a 2003. I think, maybe a 2004. And it is a 4 door. Funnily enough I saw a 95 punto in Tralee today, by god they are rare now.

    Yes they are very rare.

I had a MK1 which I paid €100 for in January 2011, it was mint.

If I could track down another I’d buy one.

What money is on your one?

    Any photo?

    We'd a 99 mk1 as 5 door which my parents bought new in 99.
Was a great little runner and was great fun to rev around the town.
Luckily no head gasket issues with our one till dad wrote it off.

Finally got a chance to wash it - had the wheels refurbished recently at rim solutions, highly recommend them

Had a 01 Punto years ago with something similar, also had a full sound system built into the boot, bought in January 2008 from a guy called Jonathan,i think, in Dublin.

Same car had underbody neon's, 2 motorbike cans as well, a proper show car, i didn't take a photo of it.

01-D-21891 was the reg it was a sporting in blue.

My family had many Fiats over the years and only one ever gave serious trouble.

    94 Punto S
    97 Brava SX 1.4 12v
    99, 00 & 01 Brava HSX 1.2 16v
    98 Punto SX
98 Punto SX 16v automatic (head gasket)
    01 Punto ELX 16v Speedgear.
02 Punto 6 speed Sporting in yellow.
    05 Panda.

My parents owned five of the above and the rest other family but Tractamotors certainly made a few quid from them over the years. :pac:

You know now that I think about it the fiats were the most reliable for us
99 punto was great till dad wrote it off.
04 punto till dad wrote it off.. notice a pattern
94 turbo diesel tempra with the digi dash
06 1.3 multijet punto with no major issues
    00 1.9 mk2
    06 1.9 gp that's still going strong
88 fiat uno which dad wrote off
90 uno which was traded in for a Skoda favorit

Not a fiat but the 159 we have now hasn't cost me anything apart from a timing belt

Think I drove past you in Terenure village this afternoon at about 2pm.

Car looks deadly on the road. Great colour for an E92 too, nice and rare. :)
