Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All F10 530ds are automatic, well apart from the very early ones maybe.

That is gorgeous. Great colour and wheels. One of my favourite driving cars from the '90s.

Lovely car and color combo osi,
One of those was on my option list last year but I felt it was way underpowered with the 150 engine, I see your one is dsg, Is it the 190 ?

    Well wear.

That's a beauty! :) Always loved those cars. Probably my fave VW of all time.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Best of luck with the Tiguan, have you tested out the automatic parking yet, really really cool feature but never a use for it in reality.

    They’ve dropped the 190 afaik. So it’s either 150 or 240 with 4 motion. I’m guessing it’s the former.

Seeing as I haven't posted a photo of my precious in a while, I thought it was time to address this particular problem:p! Almost 20 months on and it still puts a massive smile on my face, the kind of car you drive with the windows down on a cold day just so you can hear more of the engine:D! Everyone should own a straight six petrol at least once in their lives !

when you go to one of those museums where they have an old wooden plough and old horse saddles and tin mugs from the past , just think, in future an example of 'old rural ireland' will be an empty box of rothmans, a carina 3 on hub caps and a healey ray election poster.

Well wear OSI. Not a VW fan but they are always admired by me. The park assist is very disconcerting, especially seeing the wheel fly around by itself!

It was mine for 20 minutes anyway. A real experience to drive, loud, twitchy, hard but made for some great fun. It was very different to feel the mechanicals knocking as you change gear, you can literally feel the gear changes through the car, no power steering and every pebble and scar in the road reverberated back up to you. Made the E36 feel very refined altogether!

Thanks! As Joe says, no 190 atm and the 240 is likely a 12 month wait and a 10k mark up so it's the 150. It moves better than I thought it would, and I don't miss the power as much I thought I would. It's inducing a different driving style, I spent half an hour on the motorway earlier and between adaptive cruise and lane assist my only input was touching the wheel every now and then so the car knew I was alive.

    Ah, I see.
One thing I do miss from the Passat is the adaptive cruise.
That was a blessing, I wasn't going to spec it in the Mondeo though. As far as I recall it was around 1200 .
    Well wear with the Tig,
