Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wash and Hoover, need to get a bit of detar on it soon for small specs. Might be up for sale shortly, tax is up since last month and final monthly insurance payment is next week so I'm hoping it doesn't go up much! Off to the euros too so can't afford anything for a while! Possibly on the lookout 3 series coupe when I'm back! If anyone's in the market for a well kept car serviced 3 weeks ago with nct to 11/2017 give me a pm :)

That would be so much nicer without the German plates and black roof.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with the so-called German plates? So what if they have a little slit in the numbers? They're nearly identical to a regular pressed plate.

I liked them in fact I bought a set for the Audi last year but hated them after I'm going off topic now and don't want to be spanked by our new overlord..:p

Haha, each to their own :) pressed metal German = yes please. Only on German cars though! The roof is carbon ;):D

Indeed, nice to see some diversity around the place anyway and someone doing something different. If we all did the same thing life would be a pretty boring place!

Car looks very well man, fair play. 😊

Mazda have really feminised the MX5, not a huge fan of its design now.

I disagree, they look much more agressive in the metal. 1.5 is quite quick too on a backroad and in capable hands.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,381 ✭✭✭vintagevrs

I disagree too. Think it looks sharp and purposeful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,660 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Yeh i'm not saying it looks totally bad, just the big windscreen frame, chunky tyres and small wheels makes it look like a toy car. :)

Gave the Astra a bit of a once over today with the obligatory 1BM, dried and a quick lick of demon shine . A hell of a lot of tar on it, didn't worry too much about that, she's nice from afar but far from nice at the mo'.

Yeah, I thought it was long gone! Such a perfect looking car. I haven't seen a genuine Glanza in a long long time.

If memory serves me right, I believe Toyotafanboi said he'd be keeping it for good ? Or something along those lines :)

He'd be mad not to. I remmeber there used to be so many of them around and I haven't seen one in a while now!

Mazda have really feminised the MX5, not a huge fan of its design now.

That is literally the polar opposite to what Mazda were aiming for, the felt the older cars were too soft and wanted the new car to appeal to males also so made it more sharp and aggressive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

Wouldn't be a fan of the mx5 and I don't know how it won world car of the year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

OThanks lads :) yeah, the Glanza is a keeper, mainly so I don't ever have to plague these forums with "wish I never sold it" posts :pac:. Sure i'd only get €2k tops for it and thankfully I don't need to sell it to watch some young lad wreck it.

Dont know when it'l see the road again, definitely not this year as i'm saving furiously for a new daily. The plan is just to keep it somewhat preserved until the time is right. Sitting in it today it really did feel dated, cheap and thin, I remember when they used to feel cutting edge to be in. Hard to believe the first Glanzas are 20 this year. Still love it though :P.

    /yarn over.

Just bought this. Plates to be swapped this week. Really enjoying it so far. It is original with ~150hp, over 65mpg back from the UK and 280euro per annum tax.

Almost same as me (see second post in this thread) except auto, cream and one year newer! Loving driving mine to date! :) Easy enough to update the firmware and maps if you search on internet.
