Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Congrats rizzee.

I'm also starting a new job soon so I will be on the lookout for something different. BTW the Escort is up for grabs if anyone's interested.

Don't know yet, it will be September before I get anything. Would love an E46 or MK4 Golf. Depends what's on the market and how affordable it is to run, really. Got my renewal in the post this morning and it's double of last year, so we'll see...

It's alright. It was awkward more than anything. Working one job now but switching positions soon. Sounds like a pretty responsible one but hopefully it'll be okay. :)

Roughly how much a wheel do these refurb lads charge. Seen a crowd advertising wheels from 35, thought it to be dangerously low?

I paid €80 per wheel and they were a mobile unit so came to the house which was handy as I don't have a spare set. I'd have my doubts around the quality €35.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

€35 per wheel? For a go-kart maybe, not a car!

I got the wheels on my last car done by Wheel Wizards in Finglas. THey did an absolutely superb job on them. Smooth, bright, tough and flawless finish on each wheel. It cost in the region of €350 all in and they took mine off and replaced them with a spare set while they did the job on my own.

Wait and I'll find the link to the crowd, it's on fb

Picked a new daily, a lovely old gs300. 99k miles, two owners, nct till17. The gent I bought it of had it for 10 years, as he was getting on in years he decided it was time to get rid of it, and use one of his smaller cars for getting to the shops and back. Everything works as it should, no rattles, and purrs on tickover silently. Solid smooth and quiet car. All for €1000! Thew some wheels on it today, needs to be lowered slightly and it's good to go.
