It's the road between Leenane and Mulranny. My first time in that part of the world. Won't be my last savage spin.

Thanks. I'm actually heading to Westport for a few nights in two weeks time. I'll definitely have to try and take that road in.

The road from Newport to mulranny ain't the best surface wise but when it's empty it's fantastic to have a bit of fun on

You should have gone on to achill though

Another great road to drive on is this one below. Start off in Galway, head through Maam cross and on to cornamona. Even if you had to make a trip from some place far it is worth it as the views of the lake and then on to the village of cong which is a beautiful village. You could even go into Ashford castle for something to eat if you wanted to flash the cash.

Had a wedding this weekend, my car was used to bring the bridesmaids around etc. Second in command to a Maserati Quattroporte wasn't so bad, I was expecting a 2.0tdi 161 A4 or something!

Got up at 07:30 to wash it in prep for the day :)

    394415.jpg

Rather funnily, the bridesmaids dresses were almost an exact match in colour to the e39 :D

That's a nice e39. Did you sort the problems?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

Got it back friday wotz, total overhaul on the gearbox.
The goal was to have it done for that wedding so they came through and turned it round pretty quickly for me!

Loving it so far but I really need to change the wheels any advice?

They do let it down big time Of all the accord wheels from that model they are the ugliest.

The Accord Type S 180 had some nice rims as standard, if you could find a set of them for sale. I think they were 18" so they fill the arches better.

Try a few Honda dealers here too as they stopped selling the Accord last year so some dealers might be sitting on accessories like alloy wheels they want rid of at a reduced price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

I like the original alloy :(

They look very small in the arch probably even worse when actually beside it.

Ill give it a wash over the weekend throw them up for you. I have 225 45 18 Michelin Supersports on them. They have rim protectors on them but even still the alloys are kerb marked.... Great car, have it about 4 years now, apart from getting the DPF cleaned. Never totally happy with the mpg(english import like yours), 42mpg average on a weekly 200 mile motorway commute.

Best of luck with yours, nice car!

Mine is actually an Irish car mate its 1 owner before me bought and serviced in honda garage down in kerry.

I can't complain on fuel consumption I'm getting about 6.5 liters per 100km from it and that's a mixture of town driving and some trips out the roads to the parents or a day trip on a Sunday somewhere.

All good so far it was in the garage today getting the clutch servo changed in it they develope a squeek seemingly its common and didn't have one in Tockenham when I was buying it and brakes greased because of annoying squeal all covered on guarantee so all ok but lovely to drive.

This post was from 4 days ago and it may have been said already but if you're serious, which I hope you are, hold out for a HR model. You crack the 300bhp barrier in a good way for the same tax if it's early 08!
We have one that comes into us, Jesus is it worth the money!

HR stands for high revs if you're wondering!
    HIGH REVS!

Welcome to the wagon club FN! What plans have you got for her???

Took me a while to get here :p Currently, sort the throttle issue, refresh brakes, oil, coolant, filters, brake fluid, new wiper arm, throw it through the test and see what it needs, after that, I'm not sure what way to go, a nicely setup SE looks well but I might go for an aggressive JDM esque look :)

No, it's the 2.0L diesel, a bit more economical than the petrol,
    I get 5.4-6.0/100km and E390 to tax a year.
