Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My parents just bought this. Top spec sol model with heated seats, 17" alloys and rear tinted windows.
I put two coats of collinite on it and changed plates today.
Have to say i think it's a stunning upgrade compared to older versions.
Great to drive and I think it looks great too.

Looks nice, I'd probably put the standard plates back if it were me though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

The plates suit the surrounding to be fair.

Nice car, plate makes it look 10 years older though.

    Yellow plate on the back?

    :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

It's going to take a while but for the last three days I have been really trying to enhance the paint on the car. Roughly two or three hours a night focusing on one panel :)

I am decontaminating the panel, compounding and two stage polishing.
    Sealing with Pentawax.

So the two front wings and bonnet are done.

It's not as clean as Foxhole's but god is it not glossy and damn near perfect :D

Another 11 days of panels to go :)

Not quite, if it were a Dublin car I would never put them plates on but DL reg cars everywhere up here with them, definately a regional thing!

I'll be going USDM square plate on the back of my e46 tomorrow...it would just not suit the front of it though. Imho...

Today, it hit 280,000 miles, flew through the DOE without so much as a 20 note in the ashtray, and kept working for its supper. If only everything in life was as reliable

Cheers, I try to keep it clean.. I run them around 35psi, thought the pic makes it look less. I've never had to air down (no soft sand driving) and it's never gotten stuck anywhere..

@Trailer bob, your jeep is absolutely class, so clean for 400k odd km.

    Appreciate the positive comments

Not to stoke a BMW war... but I think DZ's sig may have a not so subtle sheep reference.. anyway, why can't we like all cars... I love E39 tourings, but also wildly desire an RS6 avant.. and don't get me started on old Toyota 4x4s..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,479 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The irony is that the sheep aren't buying F30s. It's A4 not 3 series, then 5 series over A6 if you have more money. Thems the rules now.

    Eh I don't know. I'm fairly sure it's 140bhp...

I actually hardly ever look back at it :P I miss the 166 and it can't compete :o Grand little car though, cheap to tax and insure and 50mpg. Needed for the current commute.

Went to take off the tow bar this evening but it looks like it's pretty structural. Would need a replacement bumper bar or to grind the hitch off of this one, neither of which really appeal to me, so, it stays :)

    IMG_20160917_185658.jpg

Here she is in happier times, it's a stand up car in fairness. 25% of the time I wish it was manual, other than that it's a super car.

I believe if the mjet at the rear is red then its 150 and if not then 140.

New car picked up today, a Primera GT. They are getting very rare now, can't imagine there are many left in Ireland. Not many people know what it is, fly's under the radar which I quite like. SR20de and a properly sorted chassis, I had read a lot about them so expected it to be good, but the drive home blew me away. Flows down a B road as well as the best cars I have driven, a true drivers car. No body roll, no understeer, and great steering feel. It's only 150bhp so it's nippy rather than fast, but feck does it drive well! All for 600 quid!? The joys of an underrated car.
