Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thanks lads.
To explain it better, my brother was driving it and for some reason or another got distracted and veered into a parked car.
Airbags deployed and chassis is bent.
Luckily he didn't get hurt and it was not one of our main cars that has been written off but our mark 2 jtd punto.
Which is a shame cause it was a very reliable car.
Amazed at how it took the impact for a 16 year old car.
Once I get to a laptop I'll upload the pic cause from the phone it isn't possible.

    No just a bruised ego.
Funny enough that Citroën is going to be repaired. Estimates put it at circa 10 grand.
The punto is written off and I've finished the process of having it scrapped.
Puntos chassis twisted and the front passenger wheel has shunted forward so suspension is damaged and airbags deployed.
Won't turn over but it does try to start.
Such a pity cause it took me a while to find the car and it isn't common to get a jtd with the spec it had.
    Fcuk

Surprised the Citroën is repairable, looks the suspension has been ripped from the mounts?

    It has.
Drive shafts, coil and shock absorber have been ripped away.
The rear shouldnt be too bad considering a new boot door, rear window and bumper will be needed.

Since over the last while someone else has done something to my car rather than my I decided to post this here rather than in the TIDSTMCT.

You may all remember my 166. It was been off the road for the last 10 weeks since I bought the 156 for my commute. Since I plan on keeping the car and I put a lot of time and money into having it mechanically perfect I decided it deserved a cosmetic treat!

It's a really really impressive paint finish on the car to be fair. It's not even my car and I'm chuffed to bits with how it turned out. Such a lovely example of a 166 now.

Is that the way the rear bumper sits on those below the lights? Looking very well!

It actually is! Very weird finish I agree. Not sure what they were thinking

The wings end in a similarly weird way at the A pillars. They look very strange from some angles. Fine from others:D

    That's the parking sensor :p

Some people are very upset that I left it on the car. IMO it's the best bit :D

It does need a quick spruce up alright.

Car looks amazing Ded_z, it feels like it wasn't all that long ago when I saw it last. Great to see you taking such good care of it. There's not too many 166's around these days!

It's sat there for at least 3 years. Owner wants ridiculous money for it apparently. Really don't know why he just doesn't tell the owner to sell it at this stage

    Is that a twin spark?
Saw a good few of them today including a v6 turbo and I nearly creamed myself at the noise of it taking off.

    Ded Zebras is a busso.
    Glorious sounding, I wish I kept my 156 v6.
Someone cut off the front end to do an engine swap into a facelift version and then gave up

Been a busy few weeks for this old slouch. I refurbished a spare set of Cavalier wheels I had in the garage and treated them to new Federal rubber all round. Fitted new Apex springs all round too. The front end is a pain as the whole strut/hub has to come out of the car so while stripped out it got new tie rod ends, KYB shocks and new top mounts also. The old shocks were completely dead and the old top mounts had completely split making the car a bit of a nightmare on rough roads. Got it all bolted back together yesterday and treated it to a wash this morning. It drives like a different car now, still not quick but it handles superb and there's zero play in the steering or the shocks making it very reassuring to drive and still comfortable. Not looking bad for a 19 year old car that I paid less than 400 euro for :P

That looks really well! I had a few of those saloon astras, they lived a bulletproof existence in my ownership - literally couldn't kill them despite actively trying.

Nice to see one getting some love, looks great on the gsi wheels! Keep them pics coming
