Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fords performance cars are RS, ST has had Diesels for 13years now.

I'd have a mk3 Ford Mondeo ST diesel over a same gen Passat every time if i needed a diesel saloon. But then again im a big Ford fan, no nonsense lightweight motoring with decent suspension.

Meh. Sporty diesel Golfs and Octavias sell. Give the people what they want.

    They do sell alright.

Still doesn't make them sporty, and I like diesels.

I assume it was a main dealer bazz? Unusual to get such a **** courtesy car, no?

Yep main dealer but being honest the last courtesy car they gave me was a crappy 1.4 HDi Peugeot 208 auto so while this old E60 girl was rough around the edges, the smooth engine with bags of torque was very enjoyable on the open road today. Another plus too was that my own car had a service inclusive pack so the servicing cost me nothing.

A bit off topic but I noticed my idrive got a software update too where it now displays in the vehicle service menu the last recorded service log including odometer reading at the time of entry. Very handy for verifying the mileage assuming a clocker would not be able to manipulate it.

That Golf van... My first car was an 86 1.6 diesel in the same colour.
I'd love a 3dr MK2 again but they are rarer than hobby horse shyte here in Aus so making do with a mk5 1.9 tai with leather and a sunroof for the time being

Quite happy with my Fiesta ST, coming from a "performance car" MK5 GTi, it would wipe the floor with it.

Would have loved to Test Drive one (on a drivers road :D). Weight makes a huge difference.

Apologies mods I can't multi quote on my phone.

Thanks HM ! They definitely need saving along with a whole load of fun reliable 90s cars .

I can insure it as a classic, got a comprehensive quote from auto line Newry 300! Just need a daily policy and car in my own name.

It helps that I am a very old man. Going to Auto line in march when my renewal in due, sticking with AXA until then.

    Sweet MR2.
Had one years ago for couple months in winter, very cool cars. Tiny cabin was great for heating up quick on cold mornings.
Had to pop the T-Bar couple times even do the weather never warranted it.

Old and new. Little and large. Town and Country.
Picked up the little echo today as an around town car, and more importantly as a little manual fun compared to all the autos around here.

My A6 is waiting on a part from Audi so as I've a long spin ahead this weekend and the little fella to chauffeur about, the 630i just wasn't going to do.

    Enter this...

    14uyjdk.jpg

06 Jaaaaaaaaggg S-Type 2.7d. Not bad for the weekend :) - the touchscreen radio is a nice addition - but surprisingly underspecced and cramped for a "premium" model I think.

Too low and you would spend most of your time cleaning vomit! That's why we went for normal suspension this time!
