Yeah the roof and screen were a tongue and groove affair with just a slim rubber seal, you have to remove the windscreen to lift the roof.

Yeah, it's tilt and slide. Hard to get a good pic on the interweb.

Looked like a complete bitch to get out. Had to get a windscreen crowd in and cut the old one out in chunks with a grinder which is actually the way the workshop manual says.

Are you still waiting for the glass to come in for it much of a lead time ? Cost and all aside it's a pain to have the car off the road so long and to be without it.

Glass arrived today, it was in stock with Volkswagen so it was available overnight. Biggest delay was finding someone confident enough to hack the old one out without butchering the car.

Fortunately, we havn't had to go without a replacement vehicle :pac:

So...yeah, I've just destroyed two tires on my e36, turns out 205/40/17 don't fit well on a 10j wheel. Car abandoned minus its tyres somewhere in limerick. Will be a struggle get to cars and coffee Sunday.

Appreciate that man, had spare in the boot, Alan keys, socket set the whole lot but the jack broke on me last week so just abandoned it in friends place. Was ok, drove about 100metres on the flat. Got a taxi back home to get the touring, I'll go rescue the e36 tomorrow and get some sensible tyres on it. Least I can use the 205/40s on the front as they're less than a week old.

No hassle, thought if you got your spare and mine on it could be driven home. Get it fixed for Sunday, pics are needed for this thread!

190 euro mate drained it and took it away expensive yes but another guy offered to come out for 100 euro but wouldn't take the fuel away or anything I prefer have the peace of mind of someone that's going to do it properly and make sure it's all clean before I fill it up again.

In 20 year of driving it's first time it ever happened and hopefully last time too.

Cheers Wibbs, very happy with it! My first car is a '03 Celica that I've been driving since January 2012 so it's a slight upgrade in a few departments...

The engine is very quiet though, wish it was a bit louder!!

Is this similar to SAAB having the same engine in the 1.8t and the 2.0t 9-3, just with the 1.8t detuned?

With a proper remap does it become similar to the TTS?

Brenner pass, it's about 15km from the Italian border.
Nope no ADAC, I'm having over boost issues which is quite surprising considering the turbo was repaired 2 months ago.
Just have to be careful with the throttle.

Yeah, most likely was me. Was flooring it to airport. Was afraid to leave it in airport carpark and when I was coming back I was dreading to see all lovely marks on it.
Thankfully both cars that were parked next to me, where the same cars I found when got back.

As I said, I was away in Legoland. Came back way too late for it. Will have to try and get Sunday off for next one.

Sorry to not quote, I'm on mobile. My car is still stranded. I decided to go down at the last minute for a look so I went down in the touring and parked it far far away from the Porsches, ferraris, subarus and gtrs and had a look! I'll be back for sure next month with the e36, it's not as embarrassing!
