I'm pretty sure the official name for that colour is "baby elephant grey". A questionable choice really.

Is that for real ? lol There are loads of them in work, i mean loads!!!

Quite a few of these posted in this thread but sure, why not :P

Drove one for two weeks in Orlando, done about 750km in it. Absolutely fantastic drive. The car was smooth as butter but that can be attributed partly to the roads in Orlando being quite good. I was expecting the rental car basic V6 model and was very pleasantly surprised when I got into it, the EcoBoost Premium. Big touch screen, heated and cooled leather electric seats, custom ambient lighting, keyless entry etc. Genuinely miss it. Costs the same as the Golf Highline I ordered. €55,000 here and we get some crap alloys to go with it, the US spec 18s look much nicer!

€650 for two weeks, worth every penny. €200 more than an Elantra or Corolla. I even offered to pay the €200 extra but the GF was happy to go along with the convertible :)

Sounded fantastic too, especially in Sport mode when the revs went up a bit more :D

There's a chap up here just outside Dundalk with that exact car/colour/style. Looks great, i'd consider one as a next car.

It is indeed, sold to a good friend of mine that's a BMW fanatic.

Sold the M-Parallels seperately and have the Style 32's on my 540 now.

Nice, and when I holiday in Ireland I pay 1800 euro for two weeks in a VW Up, woohoo

Was at the Italian Car stand in Terenure this year.

Standard of cars across the entire show was absolutely fantastic, who knew Ireland had so many special cars in various counties. Really great to see.

Got to represent with my own 166 and his older brother!

Yesterday in England I had an E220d for a day and it cost £37
Flew home last night and picked up a Passat for less than a day for €67
Flying back to England today and will have most likely another E-Class or A6 or S90 for 2 days at a cost of £62

Car rental in Ireland is the pits

Took this after a quick wash today. Hadn't been able to drive it for around a week until I got the gasket replaced on the diff which was leaking. Only 3 euro for the gasket but 2 hours labour. Got a full service too and it just needs a new reverse light switch for the NCT.

The wheels you have on your e36 is it? I'm saving up for a set of contours at the moment. Bought a M3 evo steering wheel last week, just need to fit it.

Man if id have known you were looking for a wheel, I've a e36 msport wheel knocking around in my boot for ages.

Back plate gasket. Dry as a bone at all the input and output seals thank god. They are only a paper gasket so it's not unusual for them to fail.

I thought they just used an instant gasket sealant. Might order a gasket then so. Did you get it from main dealer just? Thanks

Yup, ordered it in the main dealer. My mechanic used some gasket sealer too and let it cure overnight before refilling the oil. He said often people seal it and refill the oil too quick and that causes it to leak again as the oil breaks down the sealer if it's still wet.

http://www.realoem.com is the job for looking at bits and a rough price on bits you can buy from the dealer!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,381 ✭✭✭vintagevrs

Yeah I was just going on what it looks like is on there already. Emailed the dealer this morning for it. I'd say he loves seeing emails from me looking for a washer for this, or a seal for that.

It's a great this time of year for a mountain blast. Everything is in full leaf, lush landscapes, smells, birds chirpping away (and pigeons, can't forget those :P).

The first semi-decent photo I've taken of the car! Missing the wheel trims as it was taken just after the n.c.t.

    What!? :eek::confused:

Naw, I hadn't the retest yet! I'm waiting for the dealership to order in the parts as it's still under warranty and they will do the work! Then it will go for the retest when the work is done. Not sure why it's coming up on the n.c.t website that is has test til October 2018!? :o:o

    That is interesting.

If cars due a retest show up as tested then there is a major flaw in the system.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,499 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Is it possible that the car got a 2 year test and just doesn't have a current disc?

You'd wonder why people bother posting if it's just to put the person who posted their car down.
