AIR laptop does not start up

    My friends apple air laptop only powers on if the power supply is plugged in,
    and sometimes switches it self off .
    Has anyone any hints as to what might be wrong .?
    its about 4 years old .
    IS there an apple repair centre that will look at it and give an estimate ,
    it, ll cost x amount to fix ,
    this is what is wrong.
    I know there,s a list of the apple official repair centres on page 1 of this forum.
    i have not looked at it yet .
    i,ll be looking at it in 3 weeks time,
    as she lives 20 miles from dublin.

    even if the battery is charged ,
    it does not power up, without the power cable plugged in.
    i can fix pc,s or ibm laptops .
    I don,t know much about apple laptops .
