    1629 update from Met Eireann

    Showers will continue tonight and will be wintry in places, with a risk of some snow over Ulster and north-Leinster. Clear spells also with lowest temperatures of zero to plus 2 degrees and a slight frost.

    Knock airport has a thick covering of snow at 0c, at 17:26, on the 28th of April.

    Crazy!.

    Looking at MT's Forecast the second week of may has temps of 15-18c! Thank god!

    It's not that unusual. I remember the Friday week before the June bank holiday seeing snow sometime in the mid 1990's.

    This is the first year in the 10 years since we moved into house that I didn't bother topping up the oil after Xmas . No heating on is tough in this weather but I'm not risking having to bleed the boiler :D

    Grange's mean temperatures for the past few months

    December: 8.5c
    January: 5.2c
    February: 4.2c
    March: 5.7c
    April: 6.6c

    Amazingly, December is still warmer than any month this year so far.

    The cold lovers must be happy :P

    Currently a sleet shower here on the hills north east of Kilkenny city, with a temperature of 2.9C and a wind chill of -1.8C.
    I love warm weather...

    had a snow shower here about half an hour ago, the second snow shower Ive seen all year. This cold spell is tragic, what could have been if this was back in December/January.... to think that its colder now than it was all winter when we should be starting bbq's and garden beers, its really not right at all.
