He was unlucky though, another yard and it would have stayed on the green, it spun back to a horrible position

Pity he missed that tiddler for par on the 9th. Still, level par is well clear of the cut line.

Yeah shame about the 3 putt on the last but there for the weekend.

Lovely to see two tricolours on the front page

But even sweeter that one of them is Padraig

    Smashing tee shot on 17

He's given himself putts for birdie on most holes

First top 10 in a major for 9 years, Phil beat him by 7 shots on the back 9 (actual front 9) on Friday.

    Nice words by Padraig.

Shane hasn't done his Ryder cup chances of a pick any harm

Double Ryder Cup points on offer this week, he might not need a pick

How can anyone not love him? It's such a thrill seeing him up there in a final round again

Not wanting to be pedantic, he is basically tied for top 10, if players kick is it still top 10, his interview was brilliant, enjoying it and confident, if a couple of puts sank he could be competing for the win, looking at the puts that are being missed shows how difficult it is though.

Fantastic achievement..well done Paddy. Always felt there were more big days with him.

Not a particular fan of him being Ryder Cup captain. Felt he could give an Open a run. Still could. But awful distraction..

He wasn't distracted this week so don't think it will be different in 2 months.

Great to see him playing so well... and enjoying it.

Lovely to see, great to see the comradery between him and Lowry, his comments about Mickelson were telling, but I think you can feel that through the TV

I was trying to figure where that came from, then I looked up Masters Qualification Criteria.

One of the criteria listed is:

The first 4 players, including ties, in the previous year's PGA Championship

Yeah had my eye on it the last 2 hours, once Streelman had bogey in 17 it was in the bag. Lowry and Casey missing birdie putts on the last helped as well :P

Tied 4th not to be sniffed at considering until last night no one older thsn him had won a major.
Its aloso significant as he gets his spot in the next Us open and Masters.

Are you sure about the US Open? The PGA website and Wikipedia both say that top 4 and ties in the PGA Championship qualify automatically for the next Masters, but it’s not listed as an automatic qualification criterion for the US Open.

I wonder is there any chance they might give Padraig the special invitation that Phil was going to get?
