Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3-1 PSG, although I genuinely fear, with JT out, that it could be worse.

If we can keep the tie alive going back to the Bridge we've an outside chance but PSG are massive favourites here. Theyve only lost to Real Madrid, AFAIK, and in those games they were much the better side.

No Matic, Zouma or JT, cant see a positive result for Chelsea at all and for once I'm glad I'm in work and wont be able to see what could be a painful night. :o

I don't think it will be a hiding but do expect PSG to win.

The army of racist thugs return to Paris yet again for a knock-out round of the UCL.

In previous years, Chelsea were either outright or marginal favourites in this fixture but their abysmal season together with a marked improvement in form from PSG mean this tie could be well and truly over tonight.

    PSG’s home form: WWWWWWDWWWDWWWWWWWWWWWWWD

    Chelsea's home form:

    Prediction: PSG 3-1 Chelsea.

A 2-1 wouldnt be too bad in the grand scheme of things, an away goal will give us some hope anyway and the way Costa is playing at the moment we do have a goal in us again but its the other end that really scares me. Ivanovics last act for us at CB was way back in 2014 when we got a clean sheet at Anfield.

Cahill and Ivanovic, off the top of my head havent started a game together at CB and theyve Rahman on the left flanking them too, I think it will be too big of a test for the defence to keep out PSG tonight.

If Guus can avoid defeat and get a score draw or better, I'd be delighted.

They dont lose too many times at home in Europe, is it us in 2004 and Barca last year, the only teams to beat them?

    Something like that...I think.

Just out of favour, they started him at the weekend vs Lille and he didn't take his chances.

At the moment Lucas and Di-Maria are preferred to him on the wing and bring a bit more balance but it wouldn't surprise me massively if he started instead of Lucas.

PSG's midfield of Verrati, Motta, and Matuidi is very strong. Mike and Cesc will have their work cut out. Still wouldn't surprise me to see Gus engineer a draw here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

That PSG bench is very strong too, Zouma is a miss here and Ivanovic has typically been very suspect at centre back. Chelsea's hope here is that maybe the players will be fired up to play in this competition and Costa's renewed form are the only shreds of hope but this is a strong PSG side who play a good brand of football and they should win this tie. I hope not but it's hope not expectation.

See PSG winning this 3-0 , on paper with all the injuries that Chelsea team will need a minor miracle to get a result to bring back to Stamford bridge

Is the chelsea bus driver as good as the portugese one they use to have.hopefully 4-0 to PSG::P:P:P

I'd take a 2-1 loss, gives us something to fight for at the Bridge, a 3-1 loss, while not impossible to overturn, thinking of 2012 vs Naploi and 2014 vs PSG, is not ideal and something that is very difficult to do.

If we lose by 2 goals or more without scoring, we're f**ked.

2-2, Hazard to score and get motm, ligue 1 is a poor league compared to those of England, Spain etc..

The overall quality of the league is not up to par with those in England or Spain but the top teams in England are weak and PSG would rightly be regarded as favourites against any of them.

If so that would bring Hazard's current form to 'average'.

What's the story with Pastore for PSG? Di Maria keeping him out of the team?

Hes a good player but I'd prefer Cavanie, Moura or Di Maria so hes probably 4th choice to occupy one of the 2 support roles considering the dont really have a dedicated #10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

I hope Hazard is used as a #10 for us tonight, Willian and Pedro are much more willing and capable of putting in defensive shifts on the flanks to the help the FBs, IMO.

    2-0 PSG

Just referring to the overall quality of the teams psg face on a weekly basis, their a top team but are not really used to facing decent competition week in week out.

    Lawro co commentator, ugh.

PSG have a great record at home, a draw would be a great result for Chelsea.

PSG really should apply to join the Bundesliga (or the Prem - just drop the 4th bottom team one year! :pac:)

Watching Chelsea there you would think they are premier league champions.

Should be 1-0. Wonder save. Keeper looked stunned he kept it out.
