Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Milner must fall over more than any other player. He never seems in control of what he's doing.

Ah here, I was going to do the match thread of the Europa league tie between these two clubs.
Can a mod close it and let me do one?

Owen on the commentary should at least soften the blow for you.

Who in God's earthly world decided to pay Michael Owen to commentate on matches?

I have heard more insightful commentary from a dead cat!

    Sweet divinity.

I pretend he's Phil Taylor. It doesn't help, it's just something I do.

I do Jason Manford. Likewise on the absolutely no help front, however.

Why don;t walls race out rather than dropping deeper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Thought Mignolet had fallen over the line with that.

He talked about our high line defending that free kick like a man who's never watched a match in his life before.

Walls generally don't move, Harry. Its actually one of the key requirements in order to be classified as a wall.

Nearly caught out rodgers'ing around the back with the ball...would rather we try and get it forward quicker.

One fact about Owen that I do like is, he brought a cereal out when I was a kid, and of course little Knex being a fan, I went and bought it.

It was absolutely crap. Just so bland, which is quite fitting when you listen to his commentary now.

I bet he's eating a bowl of Nestle Sporties right now.

Ha! Cos Brendan Rodgers! And cos Rodgering is another way of saying "dicking".

I'm using this from now on.

WTF is Sturridge doing in a wall? The last thing we need him doing is putting his body in the way of a free shot!!!

**** this - Sturridge has ruined watching Liverpool matches for me. Sitting here, fingers crossed, silently intoning 'Don't break. Don't break' every time the ball comes near him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

I really hope we get another midfielder in the summer. Henderson just isn't as effective when not playing CAM (although I wonder how much his heel injury is affecting him), and Milner and Can can't be relied on for 40 games a year to provide the tempo to control the game, while also having the ability to put us on the front foot and play the gamebreaking pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

What a dingus. Should have scored. (happy he didn't, of course)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,289 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Can and henderson have been hopless again. Hook one or both preferably.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,945 ✭✭✭dogbert27

Coutinho didn't get enough of the ball in that half. Opening goal will be through him so just give him the ball, I'm looking at you Moreno!!!

We're, ah, we're not doing great..

Drop one of the middle move Coutinho deeper bring on Benteke or Ibe. Having three water carriers on the pitch in the same zone is killing us right now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,987 ✭✭✭Kerrigooney

Whenever Mignolet makes a save he hops up and screams at someone...next time he ****s up(it wont be long) maybe all the defenders should start screaming at him. See how he likes it. Muppet.

Yeah, same here. I keep expecting him to be hit by a falling meteorite or some such stupid injury.

It was similar with Sturridge last year. He may have lost a yard of pace or is scared to go do a 100% sprint.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,212 ✭✭✭shamrock55

The worst Liverpool midfield in recent memory, henderson and can are a pile or steaming dung once again, ffs sake klopp never mind cb's or a keeper,we need a new midfield and fast

When that happens he gets up and starts screaming at them anyway.

I'm not watching the game but reading the comments about Michael Owen as a commentator surprise me. I thought he was pretty bland and boring when he started out but over the last couple of months I thought he improved a lot. Maybe it's because it's a Liverpool match that he has become a bit withdrawn again or something.

I've found his forthright opinions quite refreshing over the last couple of months when doing Premier league games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,479 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Score first here and we'll be leading for sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,036 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    Milner...why didn't you move?!

Just stood there watching till he realised he was actually a footballer, playing a match.

I'm surprised anyone is even remotely surprised that folk think Owen is a poor analyst.
