    Poor show overall. Night all.

It would be the funniest ever if Ryan called the competition winner:

"Hello, is that Christy? Christy Kinehan? You've just won €10,000!"

Sinn Fein getting a hatchet job tonight.

Would you sit on a jury to convict these lads? I know i'd be looking for a doctors note :D

Worked in the Sunday World , not a reporter but in the print house at the back of the offices , this fool had two plain clothes guards protecting him all the time on tax payers cost, his "sources" who would roll up on a Wednesday to give him his story for the weekend where just basically junkies that he would sort out with enough for a fix , the man is a fraud and is very boring now , he hypes up these lads and makes up they are some major gangland criminals when the majority are just drug dealers selling for a bigger dealer who is selling for a bigger dealer. His stories are fabricated to sell column inches.
As a person he is a nasty little man who has the typical small man syndrome.
If anybody wanted to shoot him they would simple as that, im pretty sure most of these lads just laugh at his stories.

He sounds like some uncle with some wild tales to liven the imagination and scare the bejesus out of young fellas. That voice...

    I'm a bit cross.

This should have been the Minister for Justice (who?) and a debate and open to the audience.

It would have been distasteful on the night of a funeral but would have been a good show in due course.

The LLS tonight was a disaster.

Burst bums and blown chances imo..

    Stay safe lads, hugs gswxxx

And then he could do a Ronnie O'Sullivan on it and say "meh, you're alright, it's hardly worth heading up to collect that little money"

For all of Pat the Plank's hatred towards the Shinners, he had integrity.

Sad to see RTE facilitating such cheap bias.

(And no, I aint no Shinner fan, but this type of thing cheapens us all)

Can the Sunday World do a double sided pull out poster this weekend, one side Team Kinehan, the other Team Hutch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,930 ✭✭✭PeterTheEighth

I dunno I think it was pre record. Suddenly he's back at the desk to say goodbye, then he skips daintily back over to the big graphic of the two families and Williams isnt there. I think it's all part of his little choreography to make us think it's live. Even to the extent of making the band stand up behind him while the interview is on.

Perfectly fair comment. They want to get rid of the SCC. No other party wants to do that.

He could have just said the SCC shouldn't be abolished as it does important work but there seems to be an agenda by INM to take down Sinn Fein.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,027 ✭✭✭willowthewisp

In fairness Williams was quite good there. Liked what he said about Sinn Fein too.

Yet, as pointed out in the post you quoted, SF are the only ones who want to get rid of the SCC. Therefore they idea wouldn't even be up for discussion if they hadn't suggested it.

His work must be drying up so he comes out and says his life is in danger , typical tabloid hype , heard the Sunday world advert on the radio the other day "a city gripped by fear" "gangland terror has city in lockdown" such bollox . I can see the regency hotel from my front door and im not exactly terrified to go over to centra for a pint of milk.

Because Tubridy is asking the questions in such a way that you can only answer yes or no. He tells the guys story while asking the question. Gay Byrne or Terry Wogan would say "tell us a bit about how you got off the booze" and then let the guy roll.

    This is very true.

That's debatable. I wouldn't wipe my arse with the indo.
How does he get away with saying things like there would have been a bigger massacre at the weigh in if the guards were there? How does he know they wouldn't have called it off? Pure sensationalism passing himself off as an expert on the subject.

I doubt it. Once the morotorium is over they'll be out of the traps with wall to wall politics.

Just back from the late late show audience. This thread usually helps me through the LLS so had to go without tonight. The PW segment was live. I'd have been a big tubs critic prior to tonight but he's under strict time constraints with each guest the floor manager holds up fingers to show how many mins left with each guest and he has to try and naturally conclude each one. He has no ear piece and seems to enjoy the show. We got a hamper of foot products and a weak guest line up but got the face on telly a few times so every cloud! LLS much better in real life than on telly....although no booze during the show to help you through it!

Any audience prize? I think, but I could be wrong almost every weekend when Gay did it (so to speak) the audience got something whether it was a Homestead Hamper or a night in the local hotel you got something.

We got a hamper of foot care products which he announced after the celebrity dog segment. Yeah by the sounds of it the audience get something each week no matter how rubbish!

There's one next Friday alright. There'll be no talk of politics as voting will still be going on until 22.00 at least.

Producers/directors/someone needs a kick up the backside. less guests, but more entertaining ones. Sometimes the way they just rush to finish is nonsense.

We need to get our hands on 60-80 tickets and have a boards.ie get together at the LLS some night. :pac:
