    First meetup of the Athenry branch of Ireland XO (Reaching out) is happening next Tues from 6-8pm in the Arch Bar, Athenry. Feel free to pop in for a few minutes, we are looking to get the group going in the town.

    "Ireland Reaching Out is the national diaspora programme and has been connecting people of Irish descent with their ancestral home since 2009."

    If you are interested in history, heritage, genealogy, welcoming people to the area, sharing stories, websites, social media, chatting, getting involved please come along (one of these interests in more than enough and we would like to welcome people who aren't very active online as there is so much knowledge to work with).

    The amount of time and effort put into the group will be determined by the volunteers, this is about having fun, getting involved with the community and helping people to access their history and heritage. A chance to welcome people back to their ancestral homes. It also gives the opportunity to help local people map their heritage and learn more about the area.
