Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Wasn't a dive. There was contact. Happy for Benteke and Klopp.

There is one proud Utd record which hasn't fallen under Woodward and Moyes or LVG.

Utd have never been knocked out of a European competition by another English team.

Liverpool of course were famously beaten by Nottingham Forest in the European Cup in 1978, that must still hurt so it would be utterly tragic to lose to the scousers in the EL however unimportant the comp is.

No it wasn't. There was contact which caused him to lose his balance. Clear penalty. Unlucky for Palace but very poor judgement by the defender.

All I need is a win in this game to make it the perfect week results wise.

    Connacht win
    Arsenal - Spurs draw
    McGregor loses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,830 ✭✭✭Cookie_Dough

Meh to Lingard. Should've kept up with Memphis. Hopefully he's just getting a rest.

So Liverpool won, big deal. All that's important is us winning and keeping ahead, obviously a Palace win would've been nice but realistically you wouldn't have thought they would win prior to kick off.

Anyway let's hope we can keep the winning streak up against West Brom.

Happy to see Lingard back in. I think Utd play a quicker game with him in the team.

That's a very strange thing for a Utd supporter to say.

Nah, I like Klopp and would have loved to see him as Utd manager. Benteke has had a tough season too but he's a good player and seems a decent pro so it was nice to see him score the penalty.

I like Klopp too, and I've nothing against Benteke.

However it's Liverpool so as a United fan I don't want to see them succeed, same as Liverpool fans don't want to see United succeed.

Usual display from Utd unfortunately and that was before the deserved red.

Smalling is keeping Utd in this.

Martial looks a bit footballed out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,830 ✭✭✭Cookie_Dough

How many games will Mata miss? I know it wasn't a straight red so it's usually less but the first yellow he got was his 4th so 2nd would have been 5th anyway.

    Anyone know?

The cut off point for accumulated yellows was in Jan IIRC, so the 5th yellow doesn't have a bearing.. should be a automatic one match ban

Nobody covering themselves in glory. I agree Smalling doing well. Sloppy ball possession and lots of misplaced passes. Rojo having a mare too. Lucky it's only 0-0.

Carrick is slowing our play badly. Early on we had a few promising moments and he either stood still with the ball or played a pass to the forward running player, but rolled it behind of the attacker completely killing any attacking advantage we had.

That's good news then though the next league game is the Derby.

Sky sports lads just said it's his first career red card wow

Only Mike Dean can hand out a red card for that. Absolute wanker, hate him with a passion. Such a theatrical fool

united could do worse than take benteke in the summer. hes liverpools top scorer despite never getting a full game, hes proven as a 1 in 2 premier league striker and give him decent service ( classic united wingers and balls in the box ) and hes definetly worth a look. would get him a lot cheaper now because liverpool think he doesnt fit in their " system " because they play football like Barcelona and stuff

Mata can keep his hugs this week.

    That's how upset I am.

I think Bobby Firmino is our top scorer.

I don't think we'd do business either. Very few transfers between the teams over the years.

He looked a little leggy in the first half, out wide but he's doing great up front on his own this half.

Its his best position for me. I dislike seeing him out wide

Memphis could be a good option. Has the pace to get on long clearances, and the trickery to hold off players until support arrives.

He has shown an improved work rate and defensive thinking recently.

Rashford has been on the periphery today, would take him off.

If ever you needed any proof why Blind should not be a starting CB.

    Bleh.

The hope was fleeting but nice while it lasted. Thinks it's time to throw all the focus into the cups now.

Even worse, I dared to dream about winning the league.

Not going to win anything with a brain-dead small slow centerback, since when do you run away from the man your marking when the other team is putting in a cross.

A right back who was in the centre doing 360s not even looking at the ball.

    Garbage.

I would nearly gaur tee the plan was always for that sub to happen at 75, regardless of score.

I just feel LVG sets out a plan at the start of a match and refuses to deviate at all, unless an injury forces him too.
