Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Yep, definitely. It's just strange how it works out!

    Absolutely.

I've never before seen a Man United team settle for a 1-0 loss. This is fairly pathetic

What was that stat about losing more games when Smalling was playing?

Smalling has been the best player on the field i am not sure why your wondering about that stat right now.

I wish someone would shoot Carrick and put him out of his misery

Because he was out for our successful run of games and now he is back and we are losing.

There are no leaders in that United team. Such a flaky bunch of players.

His sending off certainly hasn't helped our case but he's not the reason we will lose. Utd were appalling for the 25 mins he was on the pitch also.

LVG is and always has been the main reason Utd are where they are.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,929 ✭✭✭KH25

    That sub is a joke.

Unless you think Smalling is the reason for these defeats i don't get your point.

If ever there was a good time to bring on Fellaini it was now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,652 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Once again that sub should of been done alot sooner. LVG is very frustrating

Fosu-mensah in 2 games has done more than Blind has in 3 months

Thats the thing tho from the first 25 minutes do you really think the game would be any different if mata was playing? I don't, it started the same way and continued the same as most of our games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,226 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

6th game in 18 days with a threadbare squad and played over an hour with 10 men.

Disappointing and damaging result but I'm not going to get too mad about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,133 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

What's West broms squad worth compared to ours...? Pathetic

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

Yet again when it looks like we drag ourselves back into contention of a top 4 we go on to squander a brilliant chance.

Obviously hard to tell how the game would have gone if Mata stayed on the pitch but costly red card nonetheless. Sickened to be honest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 941 ✭✭✭pheasant tail

Straight back down to reality. Mata made a mistake yes, but Brom were on top before he even went off. Shocking substitutions. We were starting to get a chance or two until Morgan came on for Herrera, took the whole link from mid to attack, don't think we had a shot after that. Settling for 0-0, then settling for an only 1 nill loss, pathetic. Blind terribly frustrating again.

People will use the red as an excuse.

But that performance is more in line with how we have been all season. The last four games were an exception to our form, not a genuine show of where we are right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

What a golden opportunity and we mess it up spectacularly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,652 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

So no thanks to another year of LVG and tell Giggs no thanks and go find a club to manage

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

I'm guessing the papers will start with Jose again

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,979 ✭✭✭BenK

    Fergie looking happy there...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,672 ✭✭✭ScummyMan

**** off Van Gaal you poison.

Never in all my years supporting United have I ever seen performances as pathetic and lifeless as this.

    Fergie's face says it all.

Theres nothing to prove whether or not it would have been different but in my opinion it is more than likely that the game would have been different.

Can't obviously say we would have won, no knowing that, but Mata is probably our most creative player, good source of through balls and good passes and has the skill to pull something out of the bag like he did against Watford. I know we like to jump on LVG and the style of play etc but it's hard not to think Mata would have improved the display and contributed to the side.

Gutless from the team. Gutless from the manager.
This team and club getting everything they deserve to be honest.

West Ham above us with a better goal difference says it all really.

I want to thank this point many times.

Any good performance is merely an exception to the rule for Utd under LVG.

    Sending off correct. Mata stupid.
Substitutions baffling. Why not have a go and so what if we got bet 2 or 3. ****e management once again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

next league game is City away in two weeks. Would have been set up brilliantly if we had of won today.

It was inevitable lads,we are fecking woeful against the lower teams. Wouldn't honestly care if 3/4 of the squad were ****ed out. Even in the first 25 minutes we were shocking. No heart, desire or urgency in this team at all. West ham will knock us out of the cup and the first decent team we meet in the Europa we will be gone. Just want this season over now and get Jose in. It's amazing we still need a massive overhaul with the amount of money spent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

The thoughts of losing to thst shower on Thursday really grates on me but if a bad hammering to them meant he was sacked and Jose brought in I could just about live with it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,929 ✭✭✭KH25

He needs to go. That was a disgrace. The subs were too late and confusing. Chasing a game and brings a defender on? What a joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 542 ✭✭✭Nemanrio

****ing hell, that was shocking, even before the sending. They look as if they can't be arsed.

We are probably 12 games from the end of the season. He isn't going anywhere no matter what happens. Earliest will be when top 4 is gone.

I'm waiting for him to win the Europa League and sign a 3-year contract extension and then this place to go into anarchy :pac::pac:

Red card made no difference. That fixture was a nailed on defeat complete with a typically poor lifeless performance. It doesn't matter who is on or off the field for United anymore. I cannot wait until van Gaal leaves this club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,233 ✭✭✭✭DARK-KNIGHT

    ****ing terrible football

I am praying Jose is coming in tbh lvg has failed miserably at our club. The money spent is frightening tbh considering what we have been playing like

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Had a few quid left in my Ladbrokes account so put the remaining €12.50 on United to win and BTTS at 7/2.

Whenever I've bet on them this season they have lost so I'm expecting that record to continue.

    I'm some fcuking taypot.

At least he would have us competing. Did we even have a shot on target today? My stream was a bit ropey but I only recall a tame Martial effort from about 30 yards out.

No but that small bit of hope after the four games has made it harder to stomach.
